Buy a station wagon.
Volvo Audi Mercedes If you're on a budget, Subaru. I used to be all about the SUV's, I've realized station wagons are better. |

Audi and Mercedes have some great wagons but no fucking way would I own one outside of a warranty. |

Model Y w/ $7.5k tax credit or Grand Cherokee
4Runners are fugly and still look like they were designed in the 1980s |

I have an explorer st that’s tuned
Fucking flies, it’s a blast to drive |

Nissan ditched the CVT in the new Pathfinder. Is it still shit?

Subaru Ascent Limited
Ignore the lack of mirror memory, don't let your wife drive it. My wife is normally a very timid driver who is scared of her own shadow in her lame-as-fuck-but-300hp minivan, when she drives my Ascent, she arrives with a grin on her face and excited to drive because it's built to handle the speed and actually has torque down low. My brother bought a CX-9 at the same time I got my Ascent, it feels incredibly tiny compared to the Ascent just from the way they styled some things even though the numbers say they're nearly the same. I learned yesterday looking at Tacos that all new Tacos and 4R, and I think Highlanders are all going to be having 4 cyl turbo charged and going away from the 6 cyl. That sucks.

Quoted: Does the 10yr/100,000 mi warranty add in the equation? View Quote No, because Hyundai and Kia make you do a ton of preventative maintenance earlier than everyone else in order to keep it. And on top of the published schedule, look up what they consider "severe driving," and how that decreases the maintenance interval even further, but you have to do the math yourself vs it being spelled out in the manual. Quoted: You are kinda dumb if you think that a Nissan V6 and CVT transmission will outlast a turbo Toyota. No amount of V6 reliability will overcome the CVT exploding. BIL has one and our Alltrack has been flawless (except for the drains clogging—got a free interior). Probably go for an Atlas R line. |

What are you doing with it?
Road 99%? Carrying more than 2 people? Subaru Turbo outback wilderness is probably more capable than the needs of 99% Been driving my wife’s turbo Hyundai kona and it’s a great to work hot hatch / mini suv Used to drive an fj cruiser for over 10 years and one I moved back to Midwest and 99% roads I got rid of it. Had an outback for some time and got rid of it. It really depends on your needs (or wants) And as stated above station wagons are better I want the Buick opel turbo sport wagon |

I like the Ford Explorer ST! It has the 3.0 eco boost 415 hp has a decent tow rating, runs like a banshee, is fully loaded and looks badass. Downside it 60K

I have a 2013 highlander, it's been dead nuts reliable.
I can see no reason why I wouldn't go with another highlander 4 cylinder turbo or not |

OP had a '71 Blazer many years ago. It was blue. I try to talk him into a Saab to no avail. So I think he should just keep what he has for a couple years. Then see how the 4 cylinder tufbos hold up, then get one of them Highlanders.

Isn't the 4runner the default arfcom answer for these questions?
Also maybe used Lexus RX350? They last forever. |

Try the adaptive cruise control between the different models. Subaru's is far more advanced vs even a 2023 Toyota's, since it will take the vehicle from 80 to 0, then creep at 5mph in a traffic jam, then go back to 80 when the jam is over without you touching the pedals. Toyota, Honda, and many others dump you out of adaptive cruise control below ~25mph so you have stop, then manually control your distance from the next vehicle in jams, then accelerate back above 25mph before you can resume speed control. But, Subaru uses cameras instead of radar, so it's cheap if anything breaks, but it turns off in fog, heavy snow, extremely heavy rain, or if the windshield is fogged. Kharn |

Honda Passport should be on your list. Were on our second after being hit in the first. My chick travels for work and puts roughly 80k miles a year on them, they're great.

I wouldn't touch Nissan with a ten-ft pole, especially if it has a CVT (and I had two Maximas and a Pathfinder) - seriously downhill since they went to bed w/ Renault. I would put Mazda into the wildcard, as although they have turbo 4s, they have a new straight 6 turbo SUV in that price range (and headed above $60K for top trim) and they use actual automatic trannies, not CVTs.

Lexus RX350?
I dunno if you need third row (they have one in the RX350) or not, but it's like the Lexus Highlander and the 2022 model has the v6. The 2023 went to turbo 4 cyl |

Don’t buy a Hyundai group gas motor. Save yourself the trouble. Nissan makes garbage CVT’s. Not all CVT’s are garbage, but Nissan’s are.
I’d be looking at a Honda Passport if you want the minivan’ish SUV thing. Otherwise I’d look at a Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. New Mazdas are good but they suddenly think they’re worth more than they are. |

Damn I was going to get my wife a top trim palisade, whys everyone hate em?
