Moose to Miss Two More Years, Maybe More 05-17-2003 08:18:AM (Rockville, MD) -- The man who met the press during the October sniper siege, Montgomery County Police Chief Charles Moose, could miss another two years as chief while on duty with the Air National Guard. Montgomery County chief executive Douglas Duncan says Moose's job will be there when he comes back, but in the meantime will be taken by Acting Chief William O'Toole. Earlier this week, Moose filed a lawsuit challenging a county ethics commission's decision denying him a chance to pursue book and movie deals about the sniper siege. Attorneys for the sniper suspects say they're considering their own motions to keep Moose from a book deal, saying such a book would compromise the suspects' chances for a fair trial. Moose's Guard duties aren't taking him far from the action in Montgomery County; he's commander of the DC Air National Guard's security forces squadron at Andrews Air Force Base.
