Ok, wehre did this word originate?
I've heard it here a few times, but today, I saw it in the WSJ's best of the web.

Here is the quote

A majority of Germans believe the United States is a nation of warmongers," Reuters reports. Coming next: Poll finds a majority of Frenchmen think America is a nation of cheese-eating surrender monkeys.

The term, "cheese-eating surrender monkeys" was a quote from Homer Simpson.

You know how you say that in German?
"Der French."

guy, it was an ironic but unmade quote.

They said the germans called us warmongers, that's like the french calling us CESM's

i.e. the pot calling the kettle black,

No, no, no.  It was Dan Castellaneta, but it wasn't Homer, it was Groundskeeper Willie.  The school budget was cut, so they had to have Willie teach French.

"Bonjourrrrrrrr!  Ya cheese eatin' surrender monkeys!!!"
