My son bought a new car today

454 hi performance ,shift kit,all kinds of goodies. He let me drive it and it's fast.

Only complaint is the ugly ass interior.

Your son must be doing well––congratulations!  That looks like about a $25K-$30K ride!

I like it. Interior fits the paint.

I would not change a thing unless the previous work it absolute shit. YMMV and all that.

Instead of paying a interior guy I'd redirect funds to suspension, wheels, tires, etc.

It has all new bushings ,disc brakes all around, most of the suspension is updated and new also and the craigers fit it to a tee.

That's all good and dandy.  The paint screams correctly fitted 17's or 18's and quality lowering kit in my opinion. Good wheels and the right springs would really make it pop.

When I first saw the flames I may have agreed with that statement. Then I scrolled down and saw the interior, so I will have to disagree. The interior is far worse than the flames.

Check out Ground Up Restoration - ss396.com.

You can get factory / year correct covers pretty cheap.

You can dye the back panels.

You should get new "Loaded" door panels.

This car would look much better with a black interior.

Carpet is very cheap too.

Beautiful car, love the base color, not a big fan of flames, and the interior is yuck IMHO, but as long as he's happy, that's all that matters.

None of this lowered crap and oversized wheels.

Change the buttons on the seats from red to white and it would look OK.  Fairly easy to do and shouldn't cost too much.

Yep, Cragars were the way to go back then. Most people (at least in my area in the mid 70s) raised the back end a little higher and installed traction bars.

I prefer a little rake and traction bars too, but that is more of a personal preference that does not detract from what a muscle car should look like.
