I have a Harbor Breeze "Yorkshire" ceiling fan and it has upper and lower sets of lights. Both are controlled by a wireless remote, and are on/off. After a power outage/surge the other night, the upper lights are permanently dim, as if the little internal control board isn't giving the lights their full wattage. I'm not enough of an electrical guy to disassemble the thing and start poking around with a multimeter, and I bet if I call Lowes (Harbor Breeze is their house brand) I'll get a dumb look from the people in the lighting department.

Anyone have any ideas?

I was going to tell you to just call to the manufacturer for help but I just looked online and nobody can find parts much less get help.

Looks like all you can do is go to Lowes and tell them If you cant get replacement parts they shouldn't sell them and give me a new one or my money back.

Call harbor breeze and have them send you a new control unit.

It shouldn't fail after a month

try disconnecting the wiring to the fan. I had something similar and just disconnected and reconnected the wiring. Its like the surge reprogramed the remote.  I dont think thats possible, but it fixed my problem.

I'll give disconnecting it a shot. My father in law suggested I may have a loose ground wire, one of his did something similar.

At least Lowes is pretty close to take the heavy sucker back.

Don't try to look for a loose ground wire, you are not going to find it .
I guess you just take it back to L's for a replacement to save your time.

Take it back, the surge blew the control unit.
