Pound for pound, how much tougher is a cat than a dog? Poll incoming. |
Lots of variables. My cat is scared of mice.![]() However generally I think cats are better fighters lb for lb but dogs can take more damage. Cats over dogs of the same size. However some breeds of dogs are much better fighters than others. A pit bull would tear a fishing cat up. A panther would tear a lab up. |
Absolutely Take ANY breed of dog , let's say weighs 100 pounds and pit it against a 100 pound cat , the cat would tear it up in a life and death struggle. Cats have 5 weapons they can use, dogs have one. The balance , speed and strength of a cat that size is unbelievable. |
Rigged! Rigged I tell you! The dogs-playing-poker must be running that sight. ![]() The kittahs got somin' for da dogs ![]()

Exactly. Balance out the size, and cats will win every time. |
I'm a zookeeper and if I had to choose between dealing with an escaped wolf or a cat species of comparable size, I'll take the wolf every day of the week for the exact reasons stated above. If you put a dog on his back and control it's head, you are in good shape. You control a cats head, you still have to deal with it's claws and on a cat that size, you are going to be in the hurt locker. |
I really wouldn't agree with this. I raise hunting dogs and I've seen my dogs skirt under/through fences and rip their under bellies and continue to hunt all day with even a hint that something is wrong. I've never seen a cat work when its beat up. Patty |
Fixed it for ya
