already in urban commandos but... so i want to build a new computer out of some kind of military surplus. has anyone tried this? What did you use. I have been looking at ammo cans and gas tanks but havent seen anything with the right dimensions. fyi my computer now is 8x18x18 |

I had planned to build a 12 volt power supply inside an ammo can to run CB/ Ham equipment. I had a nice 15 amp transformer and was working on a circuit for a linera voltage regulator. It was going to be really nice, with a battery backup and a cooling fan, perhaps even make the regulator adjustable for different voltages. But, life catches up to you and you run out of time for such projects. It would have wound up costing more than the 15 amp supply I bought at radio shack. Good luck on your project.
