On my desktop I have a file in the Downloads folder that came from a email, and it will not Delete at all, I tried deleting in safe mode running CCleaner, I already nailed 2 trojans today I think may have something to do with it, right now I am running a scan in safe mode with Security Essentials,
Anyone have a idea how to get rid of this? ETA: Used unlocked and deleted the item, then I had multiple trojans, MalwareBytes would not update so I reinstalled it, running scan, 6:38. ETA 2 : Malwarebytes found nothing. Running MSE 8:42. |

I had a problem with that a while back and downloaded a little freeware program called Unlocker, and it works great.
ETA: Here ya go. |

Ditto on the Unlocker, works great.
FYI, I found that sometimes I get emails that save on the hard drive and the file names end in a period (.) which is the cause for the issue. Windows won't recognize the file when you attempt to delete. Before you save the file to disc you can change the name or take the periods off the end and then you won't have the problem. But if it gets by you then you can use the Unlocker program. |
