I have heard the constant flickering of a TV screen is not good if you want to get to sleep, somehow it messes with your brain and keeps you awake longer. Des this apply to LCD screens like a flat screen TV or laptop?

My dad could not sleep without the TV on and a newspaper in his hands.

I like having the TV on when trying to sleep myself, I like a little noise, not loud but something.

If everything is quiet I start thinking about a bunch of random things and then I stay up because I can't just drift off.

Make it interesting-

Go see what's on your neighbors TV.

They're old, asleep and most importantly, none of them are good looking. I have no idea what the males are like.

Same thing here, I can fall asleep in the recliner with tv on. When I hit the bed, I watch until I am about to drift off and then turn it off.

If the tv is not on, the wheels just keep turning and turning.

See if you can find one of the old Dr. Gene Scott shows.

An hour and a half of watching him doodle on his white board would put a rabid wolverine to sleep...
