Caught 100% and inconvenienced 3 other people. It isn't brain surgery. I still wouldn't trust the damn "average" govt employee to do it though.

First time through I didn't know what I was looking for so I missed a lot and had a couple false alarms. After a second attempt I caught everything though I was a touch slow.

The whole thing is heavily slanted against user success on the first attempt because unlike baggage screeners, most of us have had precisely zero training at this and the controls are unfamiliar.

With some training and familiarization of what you are looking for it gets a whole lot easier. How well you do after several hours of it? This test doesn't reveal. I'd run it like guard duty though, a couple hours on and then a good break preferably doing something that is not eye intensive (no tv, reading, video games, etc.)

I wouldn't want the job though, talk about boring.

This must not be intended for use on a dialup connection. The pictures would appear after they were already half way past the right edge of the screen. Or maybe that's the point - they're using broken machines. [:)]

I have x-rayed incoming mail for a corporation before, and it is HARD. We mainly looked for objects that had wires sticking out of them. Is that a bomb...or a battery charger? If I handle it further, will it detonate?
Almost every day there was a false alarm, because somebody was shipping a battery charger.
I have never worked at the airport, but I certainly feel for the baggage screeners. They have it fifty times harder then ten minutes a day to x-ray mail.
This report is a valuable public service!

Ready for a Government job...Errr...I already work for the government. Wonder what the pay grade for a baggage screener is?

RE: the communication report.
I don't know if there are certain bands which propogate and prenetrate better through building structures or not, but it has been my experience that radios which are relied on as an emergency tool just like first aid kits, etc, [i]do not[/i] penetrate walls very well. Several places inside buildings, you absolutely cannot get out to be heard if there arose a problem.
Motorola is a major contractor of emergency communications equipment, and it does not work when you need it most.
There are signal boosters available to install inside buildings, but they don't work either.
