I am active military and a few years ago i contemplated buying an M4 type AR.  back then i remember that ads stated military could purchase with a letter.
All of the ads that i have seen lately only make mention of LEO being able to purchase.  did a law get passed or a rule changed that cut military out?
thanks
frank

Military personnel get their post ban weapons issued to them. No, you can't  personally buy a post ban simply due to your military status

i was under the impression that i could have bought an M4 for example if my CO had written a letter similar to what LEO supervisors have to provide.  Along the lines that it would be used for official duties.
