My neighbor picked up a Rice 7K car hauler a couple months back.

That thing is loaded with features.  Really nice trailer.

I just have a Big Tex 60PI-12.  6.5x12 dual axle.

It only has a little over 2K miles on it in the year I've had it.

The last one I ordered was a 50’ Kentucky Electronics Dry Van with a few modifications. It’s the 4th one that we got like it. Pretty plane Jane on the outside but the inside is also simplistic. Rubber dime floor. Screw style 60 gallon air compressor with dryer. We have a full set of tools and a welder in it and then some fancy equipment from Massachusetts and one piece of fancy equipment from Michigan in it. Powered by a 38 KW genset.

I like this thread!!

Now that I have. f250, I really want to upgrade to a bigger, heavier haul trailer, possibly seven gooseneck. I would love a dump trailer as well, but wow trailer prices are crazy right now!!

I have a PJ 16' landscape utility dual axle that I love, but I need a bigger one now.

Also have a PJ 12' landscape utility single axle with ATV ramps that form the sides on the front. It's good, but they made a couple changes since I bought my 16' trailer and I don't think they were improvements. Still, big fan of PJ trailers; I looked at a lot of brands and the PJs just by far had the best features, at least around here.

Available in large parts of the country for utility and dump trailers, PJ and Big Tex.

There are many smaller regional companies that make good stuff too.

We went smaller regional company for our 5th wheel.

Why dual axle. For that size I would go single. Less things to go wrong.
I have 4 with one being a dually.

You all have some nice rigs but I don't see any truck box trailers. This used to be my dad's and he bought it from a guy we both knew but both have been gone for years. He replaced the differential with a straight axle with 16" tires. Lot of sentimental value so I can't get rid of it and it's still able to haul a lot of different loads. Came off an old Ford 3/4 ton truck. If you can tell me the year, I would be grateful. It works good with my Bronco.

I guess I was just thinking pile up 3yrds of mulch?

I've used them quite a lot in my life, but I've never really though much about them or looked for sale...it seems 10' is the more common small size.

I guess I was hoping someone would say: this is the arfcom of small trailers and it's only $2k or something lol

Man, I hate you.  I would love to have a little trailer like that to pull behind my TJ, which is also Patriot Blue.  There used to be several manufacturers in the $4-5k range for a basic box that you could throw a RTT on.  Morris Mule comes to mind.  But, now all the contenders are $10k plus, and I just don't think I'd get the use of it for that money.

Picked up this little 5x8 Carry-On utility trailer at TSC last year. It’s been super useful for hauling landscaping material like mulch or top soil, sacks of concrete, plywood, various power tools, my big commercial walk-behind mower, or the ATV when the ATV isn’t pulling the trailer. Probably the 3rd best $1400 I ever spent.

Only trailer I have is the Lowes 5x10 I bought from the guy down the street, like new for $400.
He bought it less than a year earlier, when he was um, temporarily rich from a tax refund.
Currently filled with junk from the house remodel, awaiting a dump run.

That trailer is almost $3000 now!

I've always built my own for myself and others, as well as properly rebuild shit commercial built trailers that are poorly built...

My most recent build from scratch, made for hauling a hunting buggy on...rated for 12,000 pounds, empty trailer weighs 3610 with the ramps installed, 4 tie down chains, 4 binders, spare tire, jack and lug wrench all in the box...

This is a commercial my buddy bought to haul his buggy on..lasted less than 2 years and broke the pivot for the tilt deck and started folding the shitty joke of a frame work they built with channel and angle iron..took it down to the bare frame and rebuilt it all...It works good now, I just don't care for tilt decks, drive overs are much better for buggy...that and it adds too much weight, this trail runs 4500 pounds rated for 12000 also...

https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/404934/Screen_Shot_2022-08-21_at_12_27_13_PM_pn-2505668.JPG

This is the stripped trailer, I've already fixed the main frame crossmembers, it had 2" angle for crossmembers welded to the bottom face of the channel..we replaced it with the 2x4" welded in with an overlap and the plates To box the channel at every crossmember..

I've had/have a few but this is my favorite. Sold it to a buddy once and started using an enclosed but I missed it enough to take it back for a trade on something else. Very versatile and pulls easy. I cut the rail off the front, added another spare carrier, can mount box on front, and put the taillights in the fenders. I couldn't do without it.

My grandpa built one very similar to that, except with higher walls.

It was used to move everything my family owned half way across the continent - several times.

Grandpa didn't get the axle location quite right - It was a few inches too far forward - which made every trip an "adventure".

Custom built by a local (to me) builder of these. A family biz that's been making them for 18 years. They now have a 23 month waiting list. I was going to build one but between no time and no space right now.....
Tough little units. I saw one get repaired in their shop that got rolled 3x at 70mph and they got it back on the road.
Quality is good. There's better out there, but I don't need much and I wanted to support this great little company.

My 22'; this with a large Silver or Sugar Maple on it.  I'll be picking up the slabs today.

Little 4x6' I bought to turn into a fuel trailer.  105 gallon (cough, cough) diesel fuel tank in the front; 50 gallon gas tank in the back.  The gas tank is empty right now and the diesel fuel is getting low.  I've been hoping that fuel prices would drop to get it refilled.

5x10  7K dumper w/1100 lb. of tree parts. It was a gift to the wife a few years back (yes, she asked for one).  I built the sides, added the roll up tarp, 10watt solar panel and DIY'd a wireless remote.

Attachment Attached File

Our latest acquisition, a 6x14 7K utility with gate mainly used with an S4 Gator. I added D-ring tiedowns, front & rear, spring gate assist and, most recently, brakes for the front axle to have brakes on both axles.

Attachment Attached File

7K Aluma utility car hauler, mostly used with our small tractors.

A 6x12 box, our oldest trailer.  Initially purchased to help move our daughter's stuff during & after college.  Later used a lot to move our household stuff from WV to NC after retiring.

A Sno-Bear tilt trailer is our second oldest trailer. Bought after buying the '05 Magnum & giving our '97 Ram to our boy.

I installed new decking before taking it to pick up the new x394 a few years back.  It was also used a lot during the transition between WV and NC.
