Which is the best camo pattern you would use??  I've got a poll in the AZ forum, but I'm asking this one here for a general camo pattern that would work in many places.  I've seen the Multicam stuff, MarPat, ACU, 3 Color Desert/ Woodland, and regular tan/ coyote brown.  I intend to get a setup for desert, forest, urban, and wanted some advice.  I've already got urban outta the way, the desert poll is here if you want to put in your opinion (which is also appreciated)..  Anyhow, thanks for your input and ya'll stay safe.

The 6 color desert is supposed to work pretty well in woodland areas, as well as desert.  Coyote brown is also a good multi-purpose color.  I might also consider German flek.

Multicam

Have you seen the Crye Combat Uniform? It is awesome with the built in knee pads that don't slip and the shirt with the wicking torso is awesome.  They also come available in ACU and BDU cuts for their field uniform.

Just really well laid out and thought out gear.

Plus, every piece of gear known to man is made in multicam so you can have total camo effect rather than a solid block of color over your torso.

Try out Cabelas Outfitter.

It kind of looks like urban camo at first, but it actually blends in very well out in the forests.  When I go hunting, and I see someone in MossyOak, or Realtree, or whatever designer camo, they stick out because their camo is just too dark.

Outfitter blends much better.

General woodland environments I'd pick TTsKO 81 or 88, Flecktarn, DPM, or Partizan.

Multicam is too expensive to be practical. I don't know about Arizona, but in south Texas, German flektarn blends in quite well in the woods, especially in fall. Better than regular woodland camo, in fact.

Hunting in az.. go with a RealTree or MossyOak type camo. Realtree Hardwoods HD blends in really well all around az outdoors.

Tacticool... doesn't really matter what you wear.

Have been looking into camo options myself lately and I think my environment is pretty close to yours.  I've checked multicam out and it seems to be the best option out of everything I've tried.  I hunt where the desert runs in to the forest and I've tried different combos (woodland top/3 color desert bottom, etc.) but nothing seems to work well for both.  From what I've seen of multicam so far, it looks like the answer.

Just a note about camo in general since I have not spent much time in that area. I do come from a traditional bowhunting background though and have heard the thoughts on it from those who must get within 30 yards of their quarry. First off let me say I have always worn it in one form or another while deer hunting but there are those who say camo is for humans. Critters detect movement in most ways. There's the school who says as long as you use neutral colors to blend it doesn't matter. Just a little hard core. I must say that I did have an eastern coyote within 15 yards of me while wearing blue jeans and a t-shirt. He also took off like a bat out of hell when I moved a few inches to snap his picture.

Don't be sorry, it really helps.  I got a real good deal on some digital desert and woodland stuff, so I bought it.  I'm also going to get a set of Multicam, so if anyone has anything decently priced and it's medium/long large/long, let me know.  Maybe we can work something out.
