There was an article about them in the National Geographic a few months back. As you can probably see, those mandibles HURT.

As an entomologist, I'd like to point out that they're called sun spiders or wind scorpions. Camel spiders are not their proper name. Just like people insist on calling pill bugs rolly-pollies. I'm not being anal, just making an FYI.
I had a friend who kept one as a pet. It ate scorpions almost exclusively. Lucky he lives in west Texas where scorpions are more numerous than holy sites in the middle east. |

no there not venomous, my brother had one as a pet while he was over there, he said they won't hurt you, but 5 of em chaseing you to stay in your shadow will scare the piss out of you
