I just got some used office furniture for our office for FREE. Most of the locking furniture does not have keys. Is there a way to order keys for office furniture using the manufacturer and the number on the lock? For example one of the filing cabinets has a lock that says "Chicago Lock Company fr345". Is it possible to get a replacement key without calling a locksmith to come and change all of the locks which sort of negates the free part of this office furniture. 96Ag |

I don't know if there is anywhere on the net to get the codes translated without being able to prove you're a locksmith. You can probably get key blanks just about anywhere. ETA - Even if you get the codes translated and the key blank, you still have to know the depth and spacing for that lock. If you just take the code to a locksmith, they can cut the keys. |
Thank you Lockman! That is just the info that I am looking for. ![]() 96Ag |
