I use my credit card for both personal and business purposes. I'm always buying or renting weird stuff from all over the place at all kinds of dollar amounts. A couple times a month I sit down at the desk, write up the expenses, and pay off the card. It gives me a great credit rating, and keeps my rewards high.
Imagine my surprise yesterday when I went to buy $30 of gas and my card was declined. Called the CC company. My account was paid up but locked. "FRAUD WARNING". What triggered the FRAUD WARNING? No, it wasn't the 250KW generator or 20 kegs of beer, it was the 15 dollar charge from "Gun Parts Corporation", aka Numrich, "DANGER WILL ROBINSON!". I told the bank the charge was legit and my account was unlocked. Think about it. I place orders all the time with Midway. Charges for range fees, ammo at Wally World, rifle from Joe Bob's Quonset Hut... all have shown on my statement with no problems. Place an order from a company with the word "Gun" in their name, and the account gets locked. |
