Hi guys,
I read a thread on here from a guy that was CBP but cant find him or the thread.

Anyway I took the test, scored an 85, just got an email stating my score.

Now what?
They really dont tell you anything.

I have been told by a friend that they mail you a packet and then schedule a board interview, but I dont know if he knows what hes talking about or not.

Thanks.

Border Patrol?  They will set up an interview...pass that, you get a physical..pass that they will put you on the list for a class.

Customs or other CBP slots I don't know.

If you are not a native spanish speaker you might want to start learning the language.
If you already speak spanish might want to do some running to get in shape.
I believe the site honor first has a lot of good info.

CBP Officer here; go here first for CBP Openings - OPENINGS

Also go here for FAQs about CBP careers - FAQ

The are openings for USBP in Texas, New Mexico and California; my bet is that these will get you hired quickly.

Just so we can clear up the confusion, I throw out this little jem.

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is the name of the parent agency.  Within CBP you have a multitude of smaller agencies, or offices.

Office of Field Operations, or OFO is what you would normally think what Customs is.  The guys in blue uniforms you see at the landborder, seaport, or airport.

Then you have the Office of Border Patrol, or OBP.  These are the guys in the green uniforms.

The last major agency to fall under CBP is the Office of Air and Marine, or OAM.  These are both Air Interdiction Officers and Marine Interdiction Officers.  They wear tan and you see them flying around or driving boats.  Needless to say, CBP has thrown a gawdawful amount of money into OAM, which is unfortunate, cause they don't do much.

Whatever the office we fall under this:

Not to be confused with the Coast Flag:

But a little bit of history... the Coast Guard was originally called the Cutter Revenue Service, which was a part of the US Customs Service of old

Just so I can clear up any further confusion, TSA has nothing to do with CBP.  Nothing... At... All.  Just wanted to make that clear.

I've only worked for another agency, never applied for CBP, but I believe you are talking about a NoR (Notice of Results) of your test score?

I will send you a PM.

It will take a while before you hear back. But once you do theres any number of things you need to do. From background paperwork to medical screeening. All you can really do is wait and see. Sorry i couldn,t be more help.

You get your NoR followed by a TO (tentative offer) whenever they get around to it. After you fill out the mountain of paperwork in the TO, everything falls into place. You have a fitness and medical exam, oral board, drug screen, etc. They will FedEx Overnight you the date of your oral board. They will call to schedule your drug screen and medical/fitness exam.
