19 dead now. Pics are downright hilarious. And the greatest part was that given the nature of this rally it's not like any 'innocents' were in the way. Poor poor freedom fighting militant faction of the peace loving political party Hamas. Kel Nekama Hu.

A pickup truck carrying masked terrorists blew up at a Hamas rally on Friday, killing at least seven Palestinians and wounding 85, hospital doctors said.

Witnesses said the truck carried homemade weapons, and Palestinian security officials said the blast apparently was caused by the mishandling of explosives. Hamas blamed Israel, saying Israeli aircraft flew overhead during the rally. Israel denied it was involved.

Ten of the wounded were in serious condition, hospital doctors said.

The rally was held in the Jebaliya refugee camp. Witnesses said participants crowded around the pickup truck carrying terrorists when the explosion went off. The witnesses said the truck carried homemade weapons, but did not know whether they were rockets or grenade launchers.

One man, who only gave his first name, Hussam, said he helped pull three men out of the pickup, two dead and one man who was still alive, but had a leg severed. The side of the pickup was charred.

The witness said he saw five dead children nearby. Dozens of children were wounded in the blast. The Hamas military wing, Izzedine al Qassam, is popular with youngsters. When the pickup with the gunmen arrived at the rally, many children crowded around the vehicle.

After the blast, men carried bloody body parts and lifeless bodies wrapped in blankets to nearby cars.

The dead and wounded were taken to nearby hospitals. Doctors said 85 people were wounded.

At Shifa, doctors had to treat patients on the floor of the emergency room because they ran out of beds. Masked Hamas men wheeled in casualties, including children.

A large explosion went off at a Hamas rally in Gaza City on Friday, killing at least 19 Palestinians and wounding 80. Hospital sources said that the dead included two children and several gunmen.

The explosion was believed to happen when a pickup truck carrying masked militants and laden with weapons blew up. Palestinian security officials said the blast was apparently caused by the mishandling of explosives.

But sources in Hamas claimed that an Israeli drone flying over the area fired a missile at the rally. Other Palestinian sources said the blast was occurred after homemade missiles being paraded during the rally went off.

Israel Defense Forces officials denied involvement in the incident, which took place only hours after Islamic Jihad militants in Gaza Strip fired several Qassam rockets at Israel, causing no injuries or damage.

Palestinian sources reported that among the injured was senior Hamas military wing leader Ahmed Randur. Other senior Hamas leaders were reported to have taken part in the rally.

Witnesses pulled body parts out of a vehicle that appeared to have been destroyed by the blast. A large plume of white smoke rose over the large crowd.

During the rally, Hamas paraded with homemade weapons and explosives. Thousands of Palestinians at the rally, sponsored by the Hamas militant group and attended by some of its top commanders, stormed into the streets of the camp, shouting and carrying the wounded.

The incident took place a day after Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas met with leaders of Palestinian factions in the Strip who agreed to cease holding military parades in Gaza. The decision was due to be implemented as of Saturday.

In the past, there have been several 'work accidents' caused by premature explosions while Palestinian militants were preparing bombs.
