Jeb Bush has resigned all of his board memberships - both nonprofit and business - in a move that helps clear a path toward a 2016 presidential campaign.

Running Jeb would ensure whoever the Dem is will win.  Not that he is too different from their ideology anyway.  I've voted in 4 POTUS elections and have never felt good about the picks

Mixed feelings

Didn't like everything his brother and father did but I believe they were moral , honest and had the best interests of the country at heart.
I suspect Jeb Bush would be similar.

My statement above doesn't sound like much but compared to Carter , Clinton and Obama they were a breath of fresh air in the existing political cesspool . Clinton #2 or Cristy would likely be no better than the average cesspool

Somehow the Bush name has a stigma attached to it and I am not sure Jeb could get elected .
The sad reality is that no matter how good your candidate is if he/she isn't electable it becomes a noble but wasted exercise.

Like I said in another thread, he will probably get the nomination. Unless the Republicans find a worse candidate then that is who they will run.

In fairness, I know just about nothing about his politics. The name though, does seem to have a stigma.

I'll say one thing, he's smart for getting in early and sucking up money as there is only one year and 12 days left till Iowa holds it caucuses.

From what I've read it will take 80 million to be completive in the GOP primary due to the expected large field.

Been down this road before.  I've voted for Bush twice.  Putting ourselves in this position is killing us.

My in-laws who are union koolaide drinkers have actually said that they are fed up with obama and dims in general. They even admitted that they may vote for "the other guy" (since they can't bring themselves to utter the word republican). Having said that, there is no way in the world they would ever vote for a bush.

Running him is shear lunacy. It will absolutely assure a dim win.

If he gets the nomination I will vote third party again. He is full on open borders and wants to turn the country into a flop house for everybody south of the border. He is also 110% for common core. He will loose badly to any Democrats because the base will stay home again or vote third party.

Please, oh please American people don't be so dumb to elect this asshat.

I really don't want to confirm that we are nothing more than a mob wishing for a monarchy. It would be nice to be a Republic and elect someone to office that actually didn't view the office of President as a giant slush fund.

The reason that Bush is running is because the business community wants him to defeat the Tea Party to allow for amnesty for illegal aliens, a massive increase in the number of H1B Visas allowed to further drive down salaries for white collar jobs, and of course to just basically punish the shit out of small business while helping secure big businesses future.

In some ways he'd be much worse.  The President as leader of his party makes opposition to him within the party very problematic and if the Republicans maintained control of the Senate in House after the 2016 election what you'd have is a rubber stamp legislature. It would be an incredible set back for the TEA Party.

I don't think Jeb will be all that strong in Iowa, NH, or SC.

The GOP needs to rebrand, if the primary comes down to Bush vs. one solid candidate who can credibly run as something different than what we've gotten from both parties the last 30 years it's actually a good thing, especially if there's people like Christie and Santorum in the race weakening Jeb.

Jeb can be beat in the primary by somebody who knows how to play the game, the list of candidates that fit that description is really short though.

Yes, if the other states had any balls at all they would move their primaries up to the same day as or within a week of the NH primary.

I view Iowa as nothing more than a cluster-fuck, never to be taken seriously.

That said........Why anyone would slave themselves to a particular party in open primary states is beyond me.
