Woman Suffers Slight Bruising

INDIANAPOLIS -- Linda Shearer isn't a lottery winner, but she's lucky none the less.

She was stopped at a traffic light in Indianapolis when a bullet landed in her lap. The 45-caliber slug pierced the passenger window of her SUV, hit the air-conditioning vent and ricocheted onto her lap.



According to authorities, the stray shot was fired at a private shooting range at least a mile away. Paramedics say Shearer suffered just a slight bruise on her right thigh.
