I AM THE LAW !!!!

ETA.

Had my buddy at work listen to it.  His Portuguese is decent

Extrajudicial killing.  They suspect it's military or a cop who did it.

In the recording he's talking about what scum drug dealers are and discussing which one to shoot

Link Posted: 6/28/2015 9:16:29 PM EDT
Was it the police that shot him or a rival gang?

I'm guessing police since the media had intimate details about the distance of the shot and the location of the sniper.

no instant death.

If he survived it looks like the next time he is on that hill he will have a problem walking up that hill.

he will have no problem going down it in his wheel chair though.

Probably drew their attention packing that AK around. If only they had done that in Tunisia.

Interesting that the sniper was shooting from the hospital, just drumming up business I guess.
Link Posted: 6/28/2015 9:23:33 PM EDT
They show that on nightly news there? We should show more shitheads getting killed lawfully on the news here.

He did that so he could meet him face to face later.

Must have been a really good lens on that camera. Didn't look like 300m but I still think it was a decent shot.
Link Posted: 6/28/2015 9:31:07 PM EDT
So what happens when he comes to the hospital? Do they shoot him again?

I always wondered why gangs didn't employ marksmen/snipers more often.  Guess it's hard to recruit gang members with that sort of discipline.  Or it just never occurs to them to try.

Gangs here in America get some of their recruitment from the military.

Looked like quite a bit of liquid underneath him when his buddy dragged him to cover, but that might've been a pre-existing puddle of oil or something.

That video needs a soundtrack. Pop Goes the Weasel would be good.

That's the rifle he dropped after being shot. the reason he drew the sniper's attention in the first place.

Yep. He was slinging it around occasionally

Should have had it in book bag or at least kept it close to body

I particularly liked this tweet by the Columbian Air Force a bit ago.

Hawker 800, IIRC, with the engine on fire.

The Columbians denied any responsibility for the engine fire, or the ensuing crash (which means it was overloaded, no reason to crash with 1 functional engine).

They did, however, take credit for the coke aboard. And tweet about it.

ETA: Link worked initially...

I wonder if it was BOPE that took the shot.  If you haven't watched the movie Tropa de Elite (Elite Squad) you should and then watch the second movie.

It's a really good movie about the BOPE which is special military police that specializes in urban warfare against drug cartels. It was on Netflix.

Considering the kind of criminals they face. I mean, look at Rio De Janeiro. A city flanked from almost all sides by gigantic slums (Favelas, as they're called) that stretch for miles up the side of the the cliffs surrounding the city. Where criminal gangs, literally run the Favelas with impunity.

Heck, where else, but Brazil, can you find crooks stealing tanks? No joke.
