NV > FO4 ![]() Fallofduty fucking sucks, despite having better shooting mechanics, it fails on being a Fallout game. "muh skills" "muh perks" "muh skill checks" Fuck "muh story that you could kind of give a shit about"

Let's see, completely full of bugs at launch and STILL has a crapload, tons of linear quests, linear TRAVEL to force you to go the specified way instead of being open world, shitty characters that are introduced and then discarded which is okay because you don't care about them anyway, shitty voice acting, map feels tiny compared to F3 (lots of places you can't go, plus most of the places you CAN go are empty), horrible DLC (I was wishing it was over the only time I ever played through them). Yeah, great game. LOL. FO4, repetitive piece of crap from the start. The mech suit within the first 30 minutes of the game? Laammme. Settlements? Preston? Yawn. Stupid ass "Voice over". Like I want to hear my character talk. Lame weapons. Seriously, a pipe gun? Yawn. |

The guided story of FO4 really blueballed me. How can I play as an 'ignore the story and become a sellsword (err...merc)' like I did in Skyrim?
Too fucking bad. Everyone is perpetually looking for a cocksucking fucking kid. Spoiler alert: the kid is a faggot and you should ignore him from day 1. |

FO4 would have been fine without all the Minecrafty, base-building bullshit. I've got another settlement you can shove up your ass, Preston. And since the settlers don't give a shit if you build big beds or just give them a sleeping roll which gives you more settlers in a given area, it's not like you are going to do anything besides maximize crop space and minimize settler space. And since your stupid settlers are needed to do everything besides pick the fucking crops......if you have too many bases, you can spend all your time running around picking mutifruit till your weight maxes out and you have to go sell it. Repeat. That kind of nonsense grinding just gets old after a while. |

You know Skyrim has an overarching story too, right? ![]() That is not true with Fallout 4. Every dialog has some sappy faggit talking about how he lost his son. |

The thing about it is that you don't really benefit from the base building. Sure, it's kind of neat the first 5 times you do it......but with the time suck that base building and reaping any benefit from it entails is just not worth it. Once you have a couple of the big ones going strong, just get bases and then send all the workers to the big ones till they are full. Less stops to make to collect your product, less time dealing with all the bullshit....and since once you can fast travel, it's actually slower to have lots of bases close together than it is a few that are spread apart. And since the settlers don't give a shit if you build big beds or just give them a sleeping roll which gives you more settlers in a given area, it's not like you are going to do anything besides maximize crop space and minimize settler space. Repeat. That kind of nonsense grinding just gets old after a while. Many parts of FO 4 weren't in "Fallout-y".. the control scheme, the dialog system, the whole feel of things was wrong. FO:NV and the expansions are as of right now IMO, peak Fallout. |
|
The dialogue options in NV make it superior to 4. No competition. You can complain about the setting. That's valid I suppose. I didn't mind it, but I can see why somebody might find it dull. But as far as game immersion ? Fallout 4 was fucking terrible. I didn't even finish it. Fallout 4 was annoying. That's the worst sin a game can have in my opinion. I went through and played New Vegas a couple times to try out different sides. You had an effect on the ending. The traits you chose actually affected the way you played the game.
In Fallout 4 I just wander around, get bored and go to bed. Wee! In NV I felt invested in the various NPC storylines. I felt like I was really talking to him. In Fallout 4 it feels like a Disney tram ride. |

For those that like FO3 and NV..
Get both. Tales of Two Wastelands |

While everything you said is true, the core issue is: it's not Fallout. It's like a FO mod that the devs went nuts with, and passed it off as actual content instead of building up the actual gameplay and story. Many parts of FO 4 weren't in "Fallout-y".. the control scheme, the dialog system, the whole feel of things was wrong. FO:NV and the expansions are as of right now IMO, peak Fallout. I had a ton of fun with it until I got to a point where I was grinding more than I was exploring.......that's where I just got to the point of meh. I got there with FO:NV too. Then I lost my game save to a bad HDD and all the process I made was lost. Wasn't in the mood to do all of it over again so I just never did. I'll probably pick up FO4 again when I get tired of other stuff. But at the moment, meh. I will agree that FO:NV was a far superior game. My biggest complaint against it was the crafting left a lot to be desired, to the point that it was useless to even try. FO4's crafting was a lot better, but it took the tediousness to the other extreme. Oh, and power armor cores.....FO4 really irritated me with those. But I hardly ever used my power armor. But I liked collecting it. |

What GPU? Game wasnt made for Ultrawide resolutions,. they arent aren't available. Tried a few mods to no avail. I'm reinstalling and trying again. I bought it when I had a much shittier computer, now that I've upgraded, its frustrating I still cant play. |
|
It was fun for a bit, but replayability sucks balls. The more I try to play the game differently, the harder it pushes me back to the same character BGS obviously wants everyone to play.
I think I only made it about ten hours into my attempt at a pacifism/least kills possible run (no kill is impossible without severe abuse of save scumming). Thanks for the wide array of choices, assholes. |

That's too bad.. I can run 4K no problem on my 1070 but I can see where the display and interface would get hosed up on an ultrawide resolution. The Creation Engine is pretty dated at this point, as well. All else fails I can play windowed or letterbox |
