What are the most comfortable out of the box boots? I hate breaking in boots!

I can't wear traditional boots anymore. I had two pairs of Ecco shoes (lug sole, gore tex, very comfortable and supportive) that I wore for several years before one finally died. I have the remaining pair as a backup, but now rotate two pairs of Skechers. One gore tex boot and one low top. Both steel toe, both good on my feet, knees and lower back.

I have had several different pairs of boots over the years and I've got to say that 5.11's were actually the most comfortable right out of the box.  If you work in a colder environment, you might want to consider another boot.  While I like the 5.11 short boots that I wear, they are not for colder weather.
If your talking about off duty boots, Merrells are awesome.

Love my blackhawk desert ops boots. They come in black.

Most comfortable boots ever and have good tread.

I have always wondered how good they were.  I haven't seen them at any of our local vendors (sucks)and I really like to try on a boot before I buy a pair.

The most comfortable boot I've ever worn are Ridge.  The only drawback is that they are only good for a year or two before the soles wear so much that they are uncomfortable.

Another vote for Blackhawk being comfortable right out of the box.  My Oakley's also required very little break-in.

Danner Acadias are my go-to boot, bar none. Yes, they take a bit of breaking in, but there is no more comfortable or longer wearing boot once broken in. Add in the fact that they can be re-soled, and I dont see me EVER wearing a different kind of boot.

Oakley are really popular with my agency (give a nice discount also). I like the SWAT Original boots––zero break in and they make a water proof version also. Roughly $70.00 a pair––last about 1 1/2 years but affordable and feel like sneakers.

I have 2 pairs of Danner Arcadia.  One pair is 9 years old and still water proof (needs new soles).  I have stood in standing water with them and feet stay dry.

Danner Acadia +1

I have never noticed a break-in.  I'm on my 3rd pair and each pair has been taken out of the box and worn 12 hours on day one.  3rd pair because 1 pair is insulated and gets used only occasionally.  The 1st uninsulated pair I have thrashed the uppers through neglect.  They work great but the Sup gives me the stink-eye if I wear them so now they are my hunting boots.  Still work great and are still water-proof!

+1 Never noticed a break-in period either.  I'm on my 3rd pair as well and they are great boots.  I've abused these boots over the years and they keep on going!

You get what you pay for.  The 5.11 ATAC are fine for your first boots or affordable backups.  They certainly don't have the best grip or build quality.  They are great comfort for the first few/several months and go to crap after.  I had two pairs, both blew out the side zippers, chewed laces in half prematurely and made my feet hurt after the first few months.

Can't beat the Danner Acadia if you want a long-term, tough, comfy , high quality boot with resole capability.  Light for true BOOTS, but still have some weight.

My preference is for a lighter duty wear that's still something of a boot.  I tend to tear up the upper materials, too, so it's of no use to re-sole if the toe/heel are torn up, too.  Single-use boots are my ticket.  Danner Striker GTX, Matterhorn Mach, some Rocky boots I can't remember and now I'm on Thorogood Omegas.  Decent boots, all, and the GTX and Mach were best.

Buy supportive insoles if you have significant arches.  I've had good experiences with Superfeet.

i would have to agree with the oak's.
they are always ready to go. never stiff, sole is perfect.....

The Danner Acadia is a good boot but a little on the narrow side.  I really prefer the Danner Stryker because they seem a little wider and are lighter, yet they provide great support and water resistance.

Danner Striker GTX

I have the ones that I wear on duty and I've been wearing them for about 4 years.

Acadias are good too but a little heavy.

Danner boots are the best hands down.  Others are good but nothing is better than Danner.

No break in out of  the box would be Danner Strikers but they are not resolable

Out of the box with a little break in but will last ten or more years with proper care Acadias

I use the Danner Strikers also. I get about 3+ years out of them. The new design is lighter and has a much stickier sole.

I wear Converse boots from galls. They are the most comfortable ones I have ever worn, feel like a tennis shoe. I have the composite safety toe. Been wearing them for 2 years and still going strong.

I like the Bellville flight boots either in Desert Tan or Black the desert ones have a gortex liner that is so comfortable I'd run 10 miles in them if need be. they are composite toe so I don't know if you need them to be but they are. The black ones are almost as comfortable and if you do a quick spit shine on them and buff em they shine like crazy. they ride way up and ankle support is real good as well.

I have been wearing the Bates Durashocks for about 3 weeks now.  I think they are the reason my left knee is sore for some reason.

I used to love the old style Magnums then they changed the look to them and they are ugly as hell.

The 5.11 atacs are a POS.  I only wear them around the yard for cleaning up dog shit.

I love & highly recommend Oakleys!  Been wearing nothing but Oakleys for several years now, and won't bother with anything else.  Comfortable, light, and easy to break-in.

Another vote for Danner Acadia.  I have 2 pair that I use for duty at the PD and another pair of the steel toe's while on duty as a USCG reservist.

They are made in USA as well, since you are from Oregon you should check out the factory store in Portland.  They have great deals on factory seconds.
