Chinese undercutting the US weapon light market knocking off US designs, then selling them to us for the cost of materials while using slave labor to produce them.

This is the reason I don’t own one. I’d love to test it, Olight has a growing fan base. And the price/features are on point. But I couldn’t use it on any of my holsters, and that is very unfortunate View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I was looking at the pl mini. It's rechargeable and 450lm. I was worried the 1200lm would be too bright for inside my house and reflect back off the walls.
Is it ok? |

Jesus, how much brighter can a light get? It’s not a Surefire or a Streamlight but for $60 there’s no reason not to buy one if you don’t have a WML. |

fuck that it won't take RCR 123 batteries The first two are more, or less, equivalents--the CR123A coming out of the pack at ~3.25v and the 3.2v RCR123 coming hot off the charger at about 3.6v. These are not the same as the 16340, which is 3.7v nominal, but comes hot off the charger at 4.2v. You can see the potential for trouble using a 4.2v cell in a light designed with a 3.0v driver. We can get away with swapping the primary with a 3.2v RCR123, but stepping up to the 16340's 4.20v might just blow a driver, killing the light. Chris |

Mushy button on mine. Relegated to a toy gun. Streamlight only for me.

I emailed Olight two days ago "We recommend only using the cr123's in that light."Jesse. It takes two cr123, so the rechargeable would raise the voltage to around 7.2. A wee bit on the warm side. If just one battery you would probably be safe. I did not realize this when I purchased mine, but primaries are not that expensive. I was looking at the Mini, but with no way to replace the battery I chose this one.
As far as brightness, dang will it light up a room. You can just blind an intruder. I have dark tan walls, and it was quite a surprise. |

CAN ANYONE CONFIRM THE RECOIL ISSUE WITH THE PL 2!?!?
There is a thread on Reddit about it. Many people appear to be experiencing an issue with the light failing from recoil.... https://www.reddit.com/r/flashlight/comments/8e7ymw/olight_pl2_warning_does_badly_under_heavy_recoil/ |

I picked up the pl mini Valkyrie on Black Friday, it is bright enough for anything you need. It will light up your yard and house but not blind you with flash back. I'm impressed. Also love the magnet charger as it's on my carry/night stand gun, so it stays charged View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Minuses on the PL Mini:
The TLR7 on the other-hand, has the usual screw-type attachment (using a coin, or maybe a casing), has controls slightly different from the TLR1 but still familiar. Instead of a 'downward swipe' on the TLR1 it is a 'sideways press', so if you're used to the TLR1 (I keep a TLR1-HL on my Home Defense pistol) it'll take some adjusting. The TLR7 is 500 lumens compared to 400 on the PL Mini, and while I don't have pictures handy there IS a slight difference in favor of the TLR7. As noted above, you do need to remove it to change batteries; you load from the front though. Instructions say to remove but to be honest I haven't tried with it attached.. All that said, I've found the TLR7 to be better for my needs; I think I paid $100 for the TLR7 and $60 for the PL Mini.. I EDC at least one Streamlight flashlight also so I may be a little biased.. |
