I like my Droid Charge. Nice little phone, long batter life, good screen.

I don't think Thorsten is going to save them.

they won't go away for a while.
too many large companies only allow the BB for security.
because the it people are too lazy or don't know how to secure other phones.

Damn...I just got a BlackBerry Torch a couple of months ago and like it.

It's the first "smart phone" I've had. I'm posting this with it.

I didn't really like the iPhones that well...but my wife has some sort of Samsung and it's pretty decent.

Pick a side:

Apple or Android

If you go with Android...you'll have to spend the next several hours researching which phone to get. If you go with Apple...the choice is pretty easy to make.

I agree. After having an iphone and now a droid, I'm wishing for my blackberry back. The keyboard is so much easier to type emails and text messages, and the thing works. The phone works, the alarm clock works, the calendar is super quick to add a reminder to, etc. My iphone and now android need to be rebooted all the time......

I like Blackberry also. However, there likely won't be a new consumer phone to replace it with:

"We plan to refocus on the enterprise business and capitalise on our leading position in this segment,"

If the company goes down, the network goes down. If the network goes down, it won't matter how much the installed base needs it or the challenges of moving to a new platform. It's just done, and geeks the world over will have to fish or cut bait.

People don't buy Blackberry much anymore unless their business makes them. I have sold maybe 2 in the last 6 months.
Link Posted: 3/30/2012 8:58:36 AM EDT
That was me last year. I passed on the iPhone because you can't replace or upgrade the battery or storage, better interface with gmail, itunes fucking sucks fierce, the screen is small by today's standards, the propietary charger and connection methods, it doesn't support MHL technology so it can't be mirror connected to my big screen or monitor, and the fact it does not support 4G service.

I have the EVO now but will be taking a look at the Galaxy S3 when it comes out. I'm really happy with my HTC but if I had to do it over again I would have gotten the S2.

I was a BlackBerry guy for.about 7 years. Then I got sick of the jams, and other bs.

I bought an HTC Sensation and love it. It is so much better than BB. So you won't have BBM. Most plans give you unlimited texts anyway.

Put your garbage disposal to good use and don't look back.

Shameful those 2 former douche-bag brothers drove that great company into the ground, because of their egos and not working together.

Therefore all the brains and talent left that place fast...one product failure after another. Remember their Tablet that can't even get email

If you need a month or two, you can just buy an old one on Ebay. You can get a new phone (2-3 years in the box) for $50 or so.

The 9930 that I got a few weeks ago is not a bad phone. It does not compare well against iPhone or Android, but it's pretty cool in a vacuum.

So yall are tellin me that there are still people out there who are voluntarily using a BB still? I thought only people forced to use them for work still had them.

OK, I'll play for a little.

My family of four has had maybe 10 iPhones since they came out, probably more.
1) None of us has ever had a battery issue.
2) The internal storage (my 4 has 32 gigs and the wife's 4s has 64 gigs) has never been an issue, it is a phone after all.
3) The proprietary charger, oh the same one for all of our iPods and iPads? What about it, it works fine.
4) MHL? I can use Apple TV, which we use every night to watch movies, to see the phone, laptop, computer are most any thing with a WiFi signal to the 50" plasma. Cables aren't cool
5) The iPhone 4s does have 4G
6) I use Gmail and works seamlessly through Apple's "Mail", or you can just go to Google, I have not a clue where your problem is.
7) As to iTunes, I give up. Personally I must believe you just do not want to like anything Apple. I could have my kids show you how to use iTunes, but I think you're happier hating it.
