Here's my buddy Cassidy (RIP)
He was 13 when he passed.... I plan on getting a Yellow Lab this year (Mainly so I can see him when I let him out at night)

RIP. Good looking dog.

Labs are the best. They are the most loyal and loving dogs you can find. My lab weeps when I go to work every morning. I wish I could find friends as loyal as that dog. I have a yellow, though I want a black. I can see the yellow when she hops up in bed at around 4am when she thinks me and the lady are asleep and then lays at my feet. On the plus side I walk about 20 miles a week I wouldn't otherwise if I didn't have that dog.

My chocolate lab  Daisy is 11. Only dog owners know the bond shared with a loyal pet. I don't know if I will be able to get another one after she passes.

RIP good buddy, I hope there are big bones and ducks falling from the sky in doggie heaven.

Interesting story about Cass, when we picked him out (It was some farm about an hour south of Chicago)

When we went into the pen where the pups were being kept, He was the biggest one and the only pup that didn't mob me, my sis, and my Dad.

So, when the time came to pick, my sis says "we obviously have to pick that one!"

I can't have a dog where I live. But when I move in August, the first thing I get is gonna be a black lab.

Here's Shane. He is only 1.5 years old and was the runt of the litter but he is the best dog I've ever owned. He absolutely loves water, the first time we had him in the water he was jumping off boat docks.

Grew up with a black lab. Big square head and snout, looked like a black furry beer keg with legs. The sound of a 12ga during pheasant season and she'd go berserk, ears perked up, tail whipping around, but one clap of thunder and she'd dive under my bed for an hour lol. Never understood that. Nicest dog on earth, wouldn't hurt a fly, wouldn't even bark at it. F with the family... that's a completely different dog.

She once jumped a 4' chain link fence and bolted down the driveway to meet a doberman that was chasing my little brother with murder in it's eyes. She met the thing in the middle of the street, and you know how dogs rear up on their hind legs when they fight... well they both did that, only my lab kinda went sideways with her head, got it by the neck and the momentum swung the doberman through the air and back down to the street on it's side with a slap that sounded like a 2x12 hitting the surface of the water. Doberman staggered to it's feet, limped about a foot and laid back down. Died right there, blood coming out of it's ass. Coolest thing an 11yo ever saw.

We'd go to my grandparents lake house in WI, she'd dive underwater 10 seconds at a time to the point where all you could see was her tail for hours on end, digging up rocks FFS. It's like there was nothing else on earth, just her and a lake lol.

Greatest dog eva.

This is Radar, we adopted him from a local PD last fall.  He is 2 years old now and never slows down.

He developed Epilepsy and could not stay on duty since he needs to take a controlled substance to control it.

They said a lawyer would have a field day if they tried to prosecute someone from what he found...

He has a hell of a nose on him, he can smell dope miles away.  We were out walking through a park and he went over to the porta johns and sat right in front of it.   I opened the door and it reeked of pot and the remnants where there as well.    He smelled it 20 yards away.

I threatened my 16yo nephew to be good to his mom (my sister) or I would bring Radar over to check out his room.    He has been good to her since....

This is my older lab Emmett (named for Bruce Willis in the Vietnam movie In Country). He's to old and fat to get up on the ATV but loves to go irrigating so I made him a ground-level cart. Can't get away from the house without Fiendo as well.

This is our 1 year old Augustus.  He's a wild and crazy guy!!

Here's my contribution. Satchel is 5. Had him since he was 8 wks. Great dog. He thinks he's still a puppy, but he weighs about 90lbs and can stand up and put his front paws on my shoulders. I'm 6'1" for reference.

We have a 1/2 lab (we think) and 1/2 blue tick hound.  An old man came by work with 3 pups and said the mom (blue tick) run off and when she came back had these pups.  He didn't want them, and didn't really want to shoot them, and if some one took them he wouldn't have to.  They all got picked, and we are sure glad we got one.  He is the childrens best friend, and now the protector of the chickens (after being beat with the two he killed).

My brother's black lab is a pansy.  He'll let you know if there's something outside and he wants to go check it out, but won't go unless you go with him.  Mind you, he has a doggy door that allows him free access at all hours.

My "little" Girl Riley on the right, just turned 1 year yesterday.   93 lbs of love.   On the left is my Uncle's dog Winston.  He is 10.

I had to throw the Golden Abby in for good measure, and Riley when she was 4 month old.

This is my Montana, 9 years old, passed almost 2 years ago.  Riley is her reincarnation.  I miss her every day....

My 16 year old Lab Oscar.  Smarter than a human I think.   RIP old man, he is missed every day.  With my girl Montana, who has also passed.  Love those labs...

my family has always had labs
growing up with them was great
I don't have one now as I'm single and live alone and wouldn't be able to leave a dog home all day alone or outside all day alone

my parents' current one when she was a puppy. not sure how many years ago that was

she's now the biggest they've ever had, she can stand flat footed and look across the top of the kitchen table
