Is it a fad or is it rad?

This is a chart of Bitcoin's price since it has been created:

And this is a chart showing the number of daily Bitcoin transactions since it was created:

6 years later and the idea is still valued at over $3 Billion by the market.

It may or may not exist in any meaningful form 6 years from now but it's clearly withstood quite a bit to get this far.  If the idea had no merit, It would have crumbled to dust back in early 2014 and it would have happened in a matter of days.

I agree.  I've got some btc.  Not planning on selling it, I'm not putting money into it either.  I'll let the market decide it it's worth more later.  If someone wanted to pay me for something in btc I would accept the payment, but probably cash out if it involved very much money.

I am both a fan of and believer in crypto currencies.  Im just not sure if BTC is it in the long term for a couple reasons; namely security and energy  requirements.

I spent some time last night reading about Worldcoin.

Ultimate scam.

People are lining up to buy this shit, then those with the servers make off with millions.

...

Oh, and it's the perfect secure, untrackable, untraceable currency.

Underground economy, black market, occupy Wall Street!

I've never run a miner, but I've been involved in Bitcoin since 2011. I bought my wife a car with them a few months ago.

So this evening I watched a Bitcon documentary on Amazon Prime and I was curious if there were any running threads on ARCOM about Bitcons. I really didn't expect to find any...

Yup, that's all the information that I have to add to this thread.

Funny, a year ago this thread would have been ten pages long.
