Hmmm, got a pair to try today. Reading is great, but the long range vision needs some work.  
 Doc is going to make some changes and order another pair.  
All free until I'm satisfied with them (or I get tired of going back)

 Nope[BD]  Actually the reading part is ground on the outside edge of the lens (all 360*) and the distance is in the center.
I was able to read my Dad's old German verniers (not dial calipers, real verniers) with them today.
