Jokes on us. Most of the Cubans & Haitians come through the SWB and turn themselves into the Border Patrol or walk right up to the Port of Entry and claim fear.
Once they’re in the US, as long as they stay out of ICE custody for their immigration hearings, they can drag out their case for years and years. 10+ years isn’t an exaggeration. In the meantime they are just waiting for an amnesty, US citizen to marry them, be the victim of a crime that qualifies them to apply for a U-Visa or waiting until one of their US born children turns 21 and can apply for them. There are over 1 million immigration cases pending in the immigration court system with 350 immigration judges.
