Yeah, this has probably been beat to death, but I never paid any attention to it...

I'm just wondering which works best in your experience.

I'd like one that doesn't try to put loads of spyware & other junk on my 'puter...  

I'm in Kuwait, so I don't think copyright laws are high on anyone's list over here. A buddy bought a high-quality DVD copy of Star Wars III  just a few days after it was released in the U.S.

I'd just like to be able to get some good music to help pass the time over here...

I used to use WinMX and K-Lite and they served me well. I haven't downloaded any tunes this way in a loooong time, so I can't say anymore.
