Do any of you guys or gals wear gloves when shooting the AR because the barrel gets friggen hot, only because I wanna know if it's OK to do or girly-man.

your handguards are getting to hot to hold it? If they are try handguards with double heatshields

actually it's the Hogue tube, the rubber part gets warm but the metal part is too hot to touch

I prefer using the handguards that the rifle came with.

I don't have an AR. Yet. But I wear gloves all the time with my mosin. I have received first-degree burns from it previously. But not when I wear nice leather work-gloves.

Hellstorm SOLAG gloves.  Usually, though, only on my off (left) hand.  I think they're a bit thick for my trigger finger.  They keep casual and inadvertant contact with the barrel from becoming a 2nd degree burn.

Bah! Ignore all the chest thumping alpha males around here!

I wear a glove when I go out for plinking. Barrel gets too hot and I'm an impatient prick so I don't like waiting for it to cool down.

Serious target shooting I don't bother though. There's enough time between shots to cool it down.
