The army supposedly awarded these pins if at anytime on the range you shot a three shot group where the 3 shots touched each other.  This pin looked like the 3 ring emblem of the old Ballantine beer.
  I say supposedly because I shot such a group and the range officer said he was all out.  Nobody I ever knew ever got one.  This took place 40 yrs ago during basic trng.
  Has anybody else ever heard of these or gotten one?  Does the current army have any such pin?
