Looking for a good packpack, 70l max size for a weekend trip. I have the hammock set up for camping, just need some odds and ends, but my medium Alice pack is too small I think for 3 day trips.
I was looking at Teton 3400s |

Do you have an REI near you? Go try on Kelty, Gregory, Osprey, etc, etc internal frames and go with what you think is most comfortable. If you really want to go all out, get a Hill People Gear Ute. That motherfucker is the best. |

The suspension and build quality was very nice, so I would not hesitate to buy any of their products. I also have one of their tents and it is also very nice. Again, a bit heavy compared to other brands, but also cheaper and durable. If you are used to an ALICE than any backpacking brand will feel like a feather, though. |

I've not hiked one, but several of my friends have and love them. I also know people with Osprey and they are generally regarded as slightly more comfortable. I think they are a bit lighter as well, but Kelty is cheap. ETA: the only Kelty I have owned was the MAP3500, which is a large daypack. Yeah but if you don't need that much space you're just hiking a bigger, heavier pack for no reason. Unless you're going for a week or more at a time or need to carry a lot of cold weather gear you don't need a pack that big. |

What about the Teton 3400 (55l) Quoted:

Probably good sized. For your uses I would say anything between 40L and 55L that has the features and price point you want. Remember that bulky items like a sleeping mat can be sandwhiched under the lid or in the compression straps and don't really need to take up space inside the pack. ordered it, used a reward card from work. |
