My old Jansport backpack finally gave out on me. I'm down to just one strap and need to find a replacement. Any suggestions? I'm going to be using it for college, but I don't need a dedicated laptop bag as I have a separate case for mine. I'm hoping for one with a nice/cool design.

Kelty makes some nice packs. Check em out at REI or other outdoor places.

Maxpedition.com makes some pricier, but VERY high quality stuff.

+1, but I don't think there pricier than other common and more expensive packs out there.

If the Jansport met your requirements before, why not just go buy another Jansport.  They make packs of every possible configuration.

I have Kelty and Gregory ruksacks, camelback packs, and some other knockoffs as well.
If you are buying in person you can feel the quality and see the craftmenship in the stiching, the seams, and the materials.
If you plan to buy online, go with the name brands...I'd buy my Kelty again any time....solid bag has logged more miles than I can count (its been all over this country and a good portion of Europe....still looks new, seams and zippers are still solid)

Ogio FTMFW.  I have this.

Very sturdy pack.  I have the green one in the middle.  The one below looks pretty cool as well.

That's what I was going to say.  I picked one up at SHOT and was amazed at the quality and toughness––and handiness.
