Alright ARFcom,

We have a quandary. My wife and are having serious issues choosing between two names. The issue is that we like both of the names we just have a different favorite. These are the choices:

Kellen- Mighty Warrior (or slender one)

or

Liam - Determined Protector

I am going to attempt to add my first poll to this post. I am not entertaining other names at this point because of the fact that we like both of the names we are just having trouble deciding. If it helps it will be the first name with a middle name of Joseph and a last name of McD.

_________ Joseph McD.

Let me know what you think and thanks.

"Orenthal" would probably not be a good choice.

Yeah, I can see how that could lead to problems for him.

Have you considered Ronald? Okay...seriously....what about Cameron or Connor?

I say Kellen, it's definitely a stronger name. Congratulations.

While Ronald is a great is great name due to Ronaldus Maximus, the issue of the last name is, well it would be an issue.

Luckily the last name is not McDonald, but knowing kids it would become an issue if we were to use Ronald.

Come on ARFCOM, keep voting!!!

That is the issue isn't it? As someone who had issues with his name growing up, naming a child is very important to me. The middle name of Joseph comes from both of our families so we are in complete agreement on it, but, the lack of a choice is starting to wear on mommy to be.

I am going to hold off on saying which name each of us prefer because I don't want to affect anyone's decision process.

Oh, and bump for the day crew.

I forgot to add that they are both fine names.  I bitched all my childhood that my parents gave me a family middle name of "McDuffie", It wasn't till I was older that I understood the heritage I received.

I've had a deal with one of my friends for a number of years.  If he names his first son Schytt then I will name mine Sheriff.  Naturally, I'd recommend either of these names.

Spartacus.

That way, when he says it, he can mean it.

I tried for Leonidas or Xenophon, but I was shot down fairly quickly.
