Guys, the Conduct Code is going to be followed--specifically posts of this type:

There should be NO Chechnya after this. Simply carpet bomb the whole place away.

"Kill them all" type posts are going to result in a locked thread--every time. If you want threads to remain open, do not look to us to babysit you and do edits. Mods, in particular, are asked to think before you post. This thread is locked, as will be others when posts of this type are made.

"Kill them all" will not be tolerated.

General Guidelines
1.) Posting derogatory comments of a racial, religious, or sexual nature. This includes your username, signature line, and title. Site Staff and Moderators reserve the right to edit these items and to remove your ability to modify them in the future.

2.) Posting pictures* or links to images which contain pornography, nudity+, animal cruelty, racism, or sexism. (Any images of violence which are extreme will be removed and may result in a warning or worse.)

*Posts with images of violence or photos of scantly clad men or women should contain a warning in the title. These types of images will not be tolerated if inserted at random in other discussions.

+Nudity includes any photo which contains a clear view of genitalia or female nipples.

3.) Posting or linking to information on how to make illegal modifications to firearms or purchase illegal items.

4.) Posting comments or links in support of illegal activities including, but not limited to, threats against the life of any living person, doing harm to a state or federal official, or advocating the overthrow of the government.

5.) Posting of someone else's personal contact information (home phone numbers, home addresses, unpublished e-mail addresses, and the like).

6.) Repeatedly attacking or insulting a person in an effort to elicit a negative response. You have a right to disagree, but please do so in a respectful manner.

7.) Posting topics or discussions with the desire to do the site or community harm. More specifically creating topics meant to disrupt the site's day to day management, disrupt member's resources, or disrupt the ability for the site to function normally.

8.) Posting repeat topics with similar or slightly varying titles. While it may seem to be funny, the "spamming" of the community in this manner results in problems for users and management. (Multiple topics on important issues or discussions are acceptable, this only applies to topics which waste resources for no other reason except personal enjoyment or humor.)

Okay, now - exactly WHICH of these CoC was violated by saying we needed to "carpet bomb Chechnya"?????

Chechnya is NOT a "sex" nor a "race" nor a "religion" - it's a COUNTRY - so Rule #1 does not apply.

So what rule was violated?

Let me apologize for the thread getting locked. I think that since it had information in regards to sending aid to the families of dead children it should be unlocked. Just red ink my post. Carpet bombing Chechnya is not a kill em all proposition. Someone would survive.

Emotions are running high right now. I retract my statement for the sake of discussing the situation and keeping the AID information going. We should support retribution on all those who participated in this atrocity. However the people of Chechnya deserve the chance to clean their own house.

Happy now.

I can't say the final solution posts help... It makes us look as blind and ignorant as the terrorists.

That doesn't mean the thread should've been locked, however.

I still don't see how a guy can have a tree up his ass but I can't say carpet bomb a country?
O-well I did apologize and retract. Can we unluck the thread and try to be civil in dealing with this uncivil act???

In this instance, where "kill them all" refers to uninvolved, distant Muslims as well as the actual perps, the rule being violated is #4, to wit: advocating criminal activities, namely genocide.

Several got the message--"kill them all" posts will result in threads (and accounts) being locked. Guys, this is not a difficult concept--"kill every effing terrorist" is okay, "kill every effing Muslim" is not. Not difficult. "Venting" can be done without violating the Conduct Code.
