Just hearsay but it could be RBG...

Edit: Grassley knows much more than we (most of us) do, and for some reason I just don't think we would say that for no reason.
This is why I deemed it "breaking" news - this is the first time I have heard anything like this.

There seems to be a consensus that it will NOT be Ruth - bummer. I hope she passes away peacefully in her sleep in the nearish future.

BREAKING NEWS: "SOMEONE SAID SOMEONE MAY ONE DAY RETIRE"

No shit, really? Wow.

FOX is just as stupid as running that as all these threads are.

Glad we already employed the "HARRY RIED Option".

The Marxist Party will go absolutely ape shit if they think a Marxist with be replaced with someone who prefers to consider laws and the Constitution.

Brett Kavanaugh is one of the rumored possibilities. Former clerk of Kennedy's, early 50s, and has decent conservative credentials

That's what I have been hearing as well.  Gorsuch was a reassuring pick for Kennedy, so he would feel comfortable with Trump picking his replacement.

Eric Erickson has been saying  for some time that Kennedy is going to retire and his replacement has already been vetted and presented to him to ease his fears of retiring.

As long as it's acceptable for Ruth to continually nod off during hearings then she has no reason to go as the job is clearly not stressful at all to her old body. She'll never willingly go with Trump in office.

Its Thomas guys....its been known for a while he wants to retire. Now with a R prez he can do so no problem.

RBG will die on the bench and I think Kennedy wont be "allowed" to retire.

Will be Kennedy or Thomas. Thomas has been wanting to retire for a while now. Kennedy was rumored and there is a few hints its him.

-Gorsuch clerked for Kennedy and was seen as a reassuring nod to Kennedy that Trump can be trusted to replace him.

-Kennedy's and Trump's sons have been spotted together recently.

-Kennedy is known for holding a reunion every 5 years for his clerks. He scheduled one this year, 1 year early. Its also usually held near the end of the term, this years is scheduled for after the end. Rumor is he will announce retirement there.

-Also rumored is he has held no interviews for new clerks for the next term.

The 4 fucktards on the court (I'm trying to be nice - looking at you, Roberts) will certainly wait until after the midterms if they can in the hope that the Senate will flip.  A savy operator might announce retirement 30 days before the election hoping to drive left wing turnout.
