Based on trackradar, it went from 30,000 feet to the ground in a hurry.

Damn. That is sad. Prayers out for the victims and their families.

Well then tell us some fucking stories I flew on it one time. 13 hour flight. I wasn't allowed to use any electronics the entire flight. Chinese nationals had no issues, though. |

There’s a great documentary about the MAX and the flight control problems it has. The new 737s still use the old airframes. The whole upgrade process was hastily thrown together to compete with airbus. It is a dangerous plane and it always has been.

All the plane crashes the last 5 years really makes me not want to fly at all. Glad I work at home.

It wasn't a max here, but, the max is the last I can think of where the entire fleet was grounded. 300 people dead in 2 crashes, no max flown for two years... It ain't good. |

There only been something like 72 major incidences since 2017 (at least per Wikipedia). And something like 212 million plus commercial flights in that time (at least per statista.com). |

View Quote I used to do initial pilot training for a lot of China Eastern's employees here in the USA. 99% of the people we trained were bright, young, and kind gentlemen. I only had a handful that we terminated due to performance and/or attitudes. Being selected by the airline to become a pilot is the USA equivalent of Delta Airlines offering to pay for all your flight training and provide you with a career as a pilot for the rest of your life, right out of college. |

Chinese maintenance is my guess. The engineers have more training in arrogance than aeronautics. Bad news and Boeing will get the blame. Fuck China.
