I have a couple of AVI files I want to put together on a DVD. One is about 1Gig the other 1.5.

If I use Ulead Video Studio to convert the two to mpeg2 the single file grows to 7.5 gig!

So then I tried Roxio DVD maker which converts it to all the strange little files that makes DVDs work, but I can only fit one avi file per DVD because both won't fit at once. On playback the sound is messed up in quite a few places too.

I'm I doing something wrong?

Any idea why avi files are growing when converted to mpeg?  I thought they would be much smaller.

If I burn the avi files as data files they both fit on a Dvd since they are about 2.5gigs total.

Must be friday the 13th. Even my avitar changed back to an early december version.
