Let me see if I can dig up my original BFL from back in the days when it first got started. The author provided a PSD to a few people.
IF I can find it..and IF I can find an appropriate flag picture, I'll hammer somethin together for you. Edit: bfl.psd located! now to find a flag. Edit: flag found! photoshopping has begun. |

Can't wait to see what you put together. Thanks! |

Sorry for the delay. I was in bed early last night. I am having a bit of a creativity block it seems. The gray looks pretty good. I am open to suggestions. I can't seem to think of anything else to add. I kinda like the simplicity considering it would be small for an avatar.
The only other idea I had was possibly making it look like an old flag or something. I have no idea how that could be done though. I appreciate the help. |

I appreciate your help and I am not in a rush. I don't really know what else I want in it. I also don't want to be too picky when I am asking for free help.
Feel free to play with the design or throw out ideas you have. Hopefully I will be able to come up with some more ideas. Thanks again. |
Haha. Fair enough. Ok, let's try this... Can you center the bfl and make the whole image look like its painted on distressed wood? I feel like that would give it some depth and I'm sure you have plenty of awesome pics you could pull from. Thanks again, I appreciate the help. I don't photoshop well at all. I'm more of a MS paint guy.

I need to figure out photoshop. It's not that hard to do stuff like this. The BFL exists in 3 layers. Two are "normal" with different blending and opacity settings, one is the shadow. It's actually not a complete BFL but it was created from one. The look is changed by twiddling the sliders on the opacity of the two complete BFL. The lower layer is set to multiply, which combines the wood texture with the BFL art. The upper is set to a light blending. This is done so the white color shows up on the BFL, otherwise it disappears like this: The painted look image from the above post was done using linear light: This one was done with hard light: There is a difference or two. |

Holy crap that looks awesome! I'm digging the first one that shows the wood grain through the BFL. I am pretty happy with that of you don't have any other ideas. Can I upload that image or does it need to be resized? Thanks again! Great work! It will need some resizing work. I'll have them up for you shortly. |

These should upload fine and be of respectable quality. Getting them down to less than 20kb (why this is a requirement breaks my brain) is not easy. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v632/zack3gpics/avatar-assembly2_zpszfcdjuus.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v632/zack3gpics/avatar-assembly-2_zpsnpigmlgj.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v632/zack3gpics/avatar-assembly-3_zpsaplxhlfp.jpg Awesome! Thanks so much... Uploading now. ETA: still says they are too big. I'm on my phone now so maybe I'll try from the cumputer later tonight. |
