Sucks. I love horror movies... and have really love both the Alien(s) and Predator movies, but this is just as bad as AvP was. I ended up shutting it off 2/3 of the way through it. NOT recommended unless you are completely bored with absolutley nothing to do. I'd rather be at work than watching this, it's so bad. |

I was preparing for a crap/shit storm fest of a film. I was pleasently suprised. It pays homage to Predator and Aliens. Its a fun film. Theres no replacing The Directors cut of Aliens and Predator. Those films are untouchable. This film? its good. not the BEST, but I was cheering and thinking FUCK YA! at some parts. Especially the last 30 minutes

| Well, I rented it at the redbox, and it was ok for a buck. They used the music from Aliens, which was a nice touch, and I liked how the Predator used humans as bait. The settings were too dark. The lighting was crap and it didn't add to the suspense, I just couldn't see. |
i thought it was dark as hell too i couldnt see shit half the time. like when the pred was putting his gear on i saw some glowy stuff and and that was about it. |
+1 I thought maybe I was the only that thought the same way. It seemed to have more aliens fighting predators scenes than the first one (my one real complaint about the first one was not enough of that stuff, but I liked what they had); but what action there was, I could barely see. Lame. As an unrelated side note, I saw it on Christmas, and I could not believe how many people went to that movie on Christmas. I thought I'd have the theater to myself, but it was damn near full. |

SPOILERS!! It was an average movie for me. I liked the way they tied AVP1 and AVP2 to the Aliens movies by that last scene in AVP2. Shows a certain Ms. Yutani receiving the predator's plasma gun. Remember Mr. Weyland from AVP1? Now remember the Weyland-Yutani company in the aliens movie? That corporation eventually colonized other planets and was essentially responsible in trying to make more Aliens. |
I agree. You just can't top Aliens and Predator. Everything else will either be a rip-off or just plain fall short. |
if you listen to the commentary track, AvP 3 is going to move the story closer the the Alien time line and tie them together, like why the 'company' wanted them to go to the planet sooo bad, cause they already know about them, as was hinted at the end of the movie. some other neat tie-ins. on the scout ship in the trophy room is skull of a space jocky creature from the first alien movie, and in the cemetary the names of the guys from Predator are on the tomb stones. I liked it |

I saw this in the theater and it was exactly what I expected. Some action but nothing surprising, a conventional plot with a lot of guns and some acid blood thrown around. I felt I got my money's worth since that's what I wanted to see in that film. The only thing I did not like was the scene in the nursery at the hospital, I thought that was disturbing and unnecessary. |
nice, kudos for noticing some of those things

So bad I had to keep checking to make sure it wasn't directed by Uwe Boll. These formidable creatures against a well-armed military are one thing, but against ordinary Earthbound hoople heads . . . ETA - So bad I didn't bother making a copy, either. I can't imagine ever wanting to sit through it again. Makes the first AvP look like a treasure by comparison. |
