2 months in and I've lost 20 pounds total so far, with -1% bodyfat in the last 4 weeks alone....when nothing, nothing else has worked in a long time.

Twenty pounds in 8 weeks? With exercise? How many carbs a day are you eating? I lost 42 pounds in 6 weeks by doing nothing more then 30 push ups a day and spending half the weekends eating whatever I wanted. Although I've heard blood type has a LOT to do with the diet and the success you have.

Be careful.  I did itn for a year and lost 100 lbs.  Really screwed myself up.  Your body needs carbs.  Do it for awhile then get back into carbs.  Veggies.  good luck

For some reason I thought the maximum time period to do this diet was six months at a time. I know you have to be careful and make sure to take some very good vitamins while on it. Also, after the first 2 weeks it's not a bad thing to have a day in which you eat whatever you want.

For the first month I was taking in about 15 grams of carbs a day; 30 in the second month, but I lost more weight in the second month.

My problem: a few years ago I lost 117 pounds by just cutting back and exercising progressivly more, but eventually all weight loss stopped, even though I was working out two hours a day, six days a week; I feel I have about 50 more pounds I should lose. I've thried all levels of caloric intake from 1600 to 3400 calories a day, but still my weight refused to budge....for over a three year period, no weight loss, despite working out six days a week.

Worked for me. I'm down to 195 from a high of 255.  (6'4")

A food journal really helped me keep track of what I was taking in.

Ok, answers one question. Next question, how much do you ACTUALLY eat during the day? A normal day for myself would be an egg/cheese/ham omelet for breakfast, a big salad for lunch(with ranch dressing, cheese and ham/turkey) and for dinner a ribeye and fried zucchini and squash. This is not a diet count carbs AND calories.

I figure I'm somewhere in month 3, floating in the mid 170's down from 200-ish.

The wife's dropped 25lbs too, we keep it up and we're going to be back down to our newlywed/E-3 weight!

Keep on truckin OP, it works!

Very cool! Drink a lot of water. Kidney stones hurt! Psyllium husk for fiber, too.

What do you eat with the chicken breast? Is it just a baked breast? I'm getting really sick of them

lots of water, especially if you exercise and on atkins, both require lots of water.

its tough to not have carbs coming in while you exercise though, I did the same thing, atkins is nice though because you don't take any starches in anyway, so it makes it easier to lose weight with exercise.

you loose a lot of weight fast though. Especially useful if you never gain weight.

cheat days don't work with atkins in my experience, it takes a few days to get back in the swing of it.

if I was making a bit more money and could afford the diet, I'd do it in 25-30 pound bursts, or twice a year. I've kept the weight off when I did it last year and it worked pretty well

edit: HUGE part of it is learn to cut your portions down to more sensible levels, if you can do that during atkins then eventually transition out of it but keep the smaller portions, that alone would help a ton

Month two for me,  all I really gave up was my beloved MtDew as I didn't eat much in the way of carbs anyway,  35 pounds gone.  I'm 6'4" and was 240,  down to 205 and would love to loose another 15.  I'm curious to see how much weight I'll have to wear for my dive trip to the big island in two weeks ( needed 8lbs with a 3 full suit and one alm80 before ).

41 lbs in 7 weeks here.  Modified Atikins diet, Only exercise I do is walking and my Glider machine (which everyone tells me doesnt do shit). I have a thread in the self defense and fitness section.

Unlike most, I need to lose at least 100 more lbs.

I barbeque a week worth's of chicken and burgers up each Sunday. I put a slice of Pepper Jack cheese on top of the chicken, to add Fat content....and spicy spicy goodness!
