After spending a little bit in a BB&B this weekend, I honestly want to know - what of these silly inventions actually work as advertised and are worth it?

Anyone care to share the ones that work great?

Probably the stupidest, most ridiculous "as seen on TV" products  made... so of course I had to get one.

hmm I just found out the Speedout was an As seen on tv.  I used it once to get a broken head bolt out of a small engine.  It worked so it wasn't a waste.

From a lot of reviews that I've read... they're pieces of shit.

Leak and/or burst after a few uses.

I tried those plastic slats that connect together, you put them under the cushions of a couch when the springs are sagging so you don't sink into it. The ad showed a couple of 1000 pound guys sitting on one. I tired them for a love seat I had that was getting old and saggy. They work for a short time, but every time you sit on it they get pushed backwards, eventually sliding down and around into the back until they're all the way down inside the bottom, unless you remove the cushions to readjust them every time you get up.

And eventually they crack anyway. I took the cushions off the last time and found the plastic slats in a thousand pieces. Dangerous pieces, thick hard plastic with sharp edges and points like a fighting knife. I could have used them as spear points on my atlatl darts.

I'm actually very fond of the slap chop.  It makes short work or onions, ginger, garlic cloves, without any irritation to the eyes.   I get lazy and use the microwave bacon tray from time to time as well.

Cat's meow is legit - I agree.  Our three cats love it, and actively play when we turn it on.  Downside is that with three cats, all using it for different periods of time, it eats batteries pretty fast.

Flex seal works....for it's intended purpose, on a non-moving gutter or a pot or something like that.
I got the genius idea to use it on a pair of muck boots that had a couple holes in the top/sides.
It dried hard (which was good) but since the boots flex, it eventually cracked and has been flaking off since I did it.
I would not hesitate to use it for it's intended purpose though - on non-flexing items.  When it was dried on the boots, it was a solid barrier, that is for sure.

I've owned two. They lasted for 5-10 uses.
The idea is solid but they don't hold up in my experience.

The first one developed a couple of pin holes. One of my dogs took the tiny jet of spraying water as an affront to her mastery of the backyard realm and embarked () on a campaign of "politics by other means". The wife and I were treated to about 30 minutes of the best comedy show I've ever seen. Eventually the hose was defeated, balance was restored to backyard land and the dog went back to sleep on the porch. So weigh this possibility into your purchase decision.

My wife picked one up at the craft booth at the church picnic, years ago.

The thing works like a charm, easy to clean.

You need to experiment a bit to get your cook times to your liking.

I have a pocket hose, and have used it for about a year, with no issues. Have even used it with my pressure washer and had no issues.
It seems to have more pressure as it is a smaller diameter hose, so it works great for cleaning off the deck and sidewalks etc.

I use it to hold my refinery and pipeline credentials. Kind of sucks to pull into a loading rack, just to find out your card got messed up...magnets, phones, etc can possibly jack up the chips or magnetic strips.

The pocket hose would probably be great with real brass hardware. I've used them and the plastic ends are holding it back.

The Green Pan is another great one. Doesn't seem to wear out like teflon.

Always interesting to see the occasional product from the sketchy commercials actually turn out to be great.

I've also heard good things about the Little Giant ladders.
