I have an opportunity to purchase a Brand New,No Ban , With all the goodies(telescoping stock, flash hider, bayonet lug)m15a4cbsof with detachable carry handle for $900.  Are these rifles any good.  How does it stack up against a Bushy? Price sounds really good if these rifles are any good. I have no experience with Armalite.

I own an Armalite. (well, Eagle Arms to be exact)
Very good rifle. Only problems I ever had with it were due to crappy bushmaster magazines. Once I replaced those it's worked perfect ever since.

ArmaLites are great I own two of them, and the only problem I have is keeping the magazines full

they have .223 chambers and tend to have function issues if you run two or three mags thru them rapid fire.

Not true. Mine and every one that I have handled are 5.56 (my dept. has (4) m15a4's all are 5.56)

My personal M15A4 has the mid-length gas system, and has been completely flawless. This past summer I attended (2) carbine courses where the classes required 1,000rds. for each day. My rifle functioned without a hiccup on both days.

Actually, about 2001 they switched over to a mil-spec (or maybe a Wylde?) chamber in most of their rifles.

They are excellent rifles, but I too would suggest you make sure you don’t get one with a .223 chamber.  IIRC, there’s a mark on the barrel indicating the mil-spec chamber.  You should be able to research this on the Armalite website.

If it has a muzzlebrake, I’d also make sure it is actually threaded on (probably with a welded over pin) rather than simply pinned on with a removable pin.  That would make it easier to fit a flash suppressor.

Love my M15A4C.  Two failures to feed in the life of the rifle--I was using a USA mag which was crushed shortly thereafter.

Nothing but praise for my 20" M15A4 rifle. Go for it - you will not be disappointed.

Fortunately for the originator he is in another state.  If it were in FL, I'd find out where and it would be MINE. (and, if he waits too long, I may be in TX, as well)  I have an AR-10A4 with 20" and 16" uppers.  Love it.  Made well, shoots well.  Their (Armalite) customer service is good, too.

I have a no frills ArmaLite M15A2.  Love it.   Runs like a champ.

ETA:  Marked 5.56.  Shoots everything from crap to match ammo.

Do you know the ABC's of ar owning??
Armalite is at the beginning.
Then bushy
and in last place colt.

At least that was what I was told when starting to shop. "Just stick to the ABC's. Dont go past C."
I never got past the A's.

I've got 5 Armalites in 3 different flavors, .223, .308, and 50BMG. If they didn't work I'd quit buying them.

I have two AR-10's , a 16" and a 20" .  The only issue was a Gas key loosening on the 20" after 5000 rounds . A quick fix  and no problems since . All and all I consider them to be one of the better manufactures out there .

I've got an AR-10(T).

My biggest problem is that it's boring.  Whatever I want it to hit,... it hits.  Every single time!

What fun is that?

Another happy Armalite owner.  With the real AR, the one in .308/7.62X51 Nato.

  An AR15 is a mini-AR!
