Hmmmmm...I just saw that over at Michelle Malkin's site. According to all of the tv news, it was an accident. Someone calls in a bomb threat, students milling around outside, jeep plows through said students. That's an accident in alright.....

If he was wearing that, and black, then he is Nation of Islam, not a Muslim.

What a fucking P.O.S

As far as "never being in an accident before" does not apply when you have to go out of your way to have one.

Don't try and turn this into some sort of "terrorist attack" or politically motviated bull before all the facts have even come out. Who knows if he's even Muslim and what does it matter if he is.

Second, the two locations in question are not located near one another, so the bomb threat wouldn't have affected the population density of the Pit.

Three, "The Pit" is always crowded because that's where all the students hang out between classes and around lunch time.

How do I know this? I go to school at Chapel Hill.

The only thing that is really sketchy about all this is that the Pit is not easily accessible to vehicles. You'd have to drive up side walks and weave between buildings to reach this area. So, it had to be intentional.

University Commons is an Apt Complex a good ways away from the scene of the initial crime. The route he took was through the most crowded corridor on campus. IF he was looking for maximum carnage, he FAILED MISERABLY!!!! UNC has one of the best, secular, Islamic Studies programs in the country, and offers a graduate program in Counter Terrorism. We've had a rather sudden influx of Middle Easterners to the area since 9/11. NC has some VERY juicy targets for jihadis.

New Details about UNC-CH Attack
Sources: Possible link to terrorism
Amy Amber Rupinta

(03/03/06 -- CHAPEL HILL) - The driver of an SUV that plowed into a group of pedestrians at UNC-Chapel Hill on Friday told police it was retribution for the treatment of Muslims around the world, according to ABC News.

It happened around noon Friday in front of Lenoir Hall on the campus, in a common area known as the Pit. Paramedics took six people to UNC Hospitals. Five had been released by Friday evening and the sixth was not expected to be admitted.

Officials say none of the people were seriously injured. Three refused treatment at the scene.

Chapel Hill police say they arrested the suspect, Mohammed Reva Taheriazar, 23, of Chapel Hill, shortly after the incident. Several witnesses were able to give police the rented Jeep Cherokee's license plate number.

Police said they would charge Taheriazar, a psychology major who graduated from UNC last semester, with several counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.

Link to terrorism?
Sources say Taheriazar told police he was seeking retribution for the treatment of Muslims around the world, according to ABC News justice correspondent Pierre Thomas. Taheriazar apparently told police he tried to rent the biggest SUV he could find to use in the attack.

By Friday afternoon, a police SWAT team had surrounded a Carrboro apartment complex where Taheriazar reportedly lived.

Authorities released few details about the activity at the University Commons apartments. Video from Chopper 11 showed officers surrounding the building with their guns drawn. Bomb squad members protective could be seen entering the apartment Friday evening.

There was no indication that Taheriazar is connected with larger terror groups. Thomas said his sources said Taheriazar may have been the sole actor in the attack.

I bet he used a deadly "semi-automatic transmission", similar to the ones used by the military.  They are especially dangerous becuse the driver can shift many times without stopping to refuel or operate a clutch.

Either he has never worn a suit before, or he's definitely OTB. We know he's not the latter, so if he doesn't wear suits and he's wearing a suit, something must have been 'up'.

Move along. Nothing to be seen here:

Roommates have been getting groceries for the past 12 hours.
The bomb threat and follow on explosion are just a coincidence.
The man drives a Jeep! How can he be a bad guy for goodness sake!

Finally: You are all bigoted creeps that form opinions based in people’s names.

Well, six minor injuries and a terrorist is in custody.  Maybe they'll be able to roll up more because of this.  They tend to flock together, it looks like.  All in all, seems like a win for our side if only due to luck and his incompetence.  And, hey, maybe he even made a liberal or two see the light.

In other news, about a week ago here, a drunken frat boy plowed through two Arab graduate students on his way home from the bars, killing both of them, and then sped away.  So far, he's gotten away clean.  Good old American "roll up your sleeves and get the job done" work ethic, for comparison.

I know, it isn't comparable and tragic and those two Arabs were probably innocent and only students.  But at this point, after all the attacks and the cartoon crap and now this, my "give a damn meter" is busted.  In short, Drunken Frat Boy Wins, Terrorist Loses.
