| Wife's father was hit hard by that fire because he had been working with the crew for several years on the Apollo Mission Simulator development and during their initial training. He stayed with the program and was part of the team that did the Apollo 13 simulator work when they were scrambling to find what would work to keep that crew alive. He left program after 13, saying he didn't want to lose anyone else he knew after the Apollo 1 fire and the near tragedy of Apollo 13. |
