I have an nice Asus router upstairs on one side of house, running via powerline to downstairs on other side of house to another Asus router set up as an access-point. The powerline works fairly well, but sometimes gets flaky and resets/drops connection etc.

I've been meaning to get dirty and run ethernet to the other side of the house but It will be quite the job and a pain in the rear. Im wondering if a Google Wifi or Netgear Orbi will be an easy out-of-the box fix / alternative to the powerline solution.

Thanks in advance.

TL/DR: Is Wifi Mesh better than ethernet over powerline?

I know next to nothing about what you asked, but I did just buy the Eero from amazon, and so far, it is working much better than the 2008 Linksis that it replaced.

expensive bandaid, but the coverage is much better all over our house and the service that I'm paying for (Approx 17down, 1 up) works fine via the Eero.  ALso pretty cool to be able to see your network remotely and what is connected as well as speeds.
