Anyone up for getting together for a Mid-Missouri shoot? Someplace around Columbia..before it gets too cold.
Post your ideas and thoughts here. medcop |

Definitely. There's also a EOSM (end of summer meet) that Gunslinger (from http://www.familyfriendsfirearms.com has just N. of Springfield.
I had arrangements very early for EOSM II but had a family emergency that prohibited me from going. I'm planning on signing up again this year. You can reach Gunslinger on the Family, Friends, and Firearms page/forum. |

I'm interested.
We can shoot at Benchrest, near Wright City (Black rifles are cool, but full auto is not allowed. Rapid fire should be done with discretion; there is a 2 second between shot rule, but no one is likely to complain if you don't do somethign dumb, like lose control of the muzzle of your firearm). Let me know if this is what you want to do. Targets are available at 100, 200, 300, and 600 yards, plus some silouette gongs (ram at 500 meters). The shooting will have to be done along with other users of the range; this means patience when wanting to switch targets. Perhaps someone can get us into Bucksnort at Marshall, or one of the ranges near Columbia. |

There are a couple of Conservation Dept. ranges by Columbia. As far as I know..anything goes at them.
We need to make this happen...keep the ideas coming medcop |
|
As far as I know the Conservation Dept. ranges do not have any restrictions on what you can or can't shoot. I will ask a couple of the Convservation Agents I know to be sure. However, most of them are only 100 yards. There are two that I know of close to Columbia..one is in the middle of no where and would be a good place to hang out and shoot.

You may need to notify the Conservation Dept and get a permit for a group shoot.

I will try to come but I may be rifleless since Armalite is taking their sweet time.

If their idea of soon is the same as their idea of 3 weeks then I will be waiting awhile. |

Should we pick a spot and show up this Saturday or Sunday? If so , I would like to know so I can plan on coming back from Hartville.
|
|
Someone hammer out the details. I'm in for
Wright city or columbia, both jobs permitting. |
|
Man, I'd be up for that for sure! Which ranges were you thinking about MedCop? I figured the Finger Lake range would be a good option. What was the other one, Rudolph Bennet? I'm off just about everyweekend, and it should be nice for hopefully another week or two. Plus there is a gunshow this weekend in Columbia (though it's usually not that great). I do have to work this Saturday, but Sunday would be cool. But again, just about any weekend would be great.
And like Medcop said, everything is allowed at the Conservation ranges, including full auto. The only draw back is the longest range is 100 yards. |
|
Medcop, where in MO are you? I have a question you may be able to assist me with regarding the STL area.
Thanks Chris |
|
By the way, if we get a Central Missouri shoot going, I'd be willing to help co-ordinate it in any way (directions or what not) since I live close.

http://assaultweb.net/ubb/Forum1/HTML/216518.html The post has a map to the range...anything goes at a conservation range so bring what ya' got..hehehe It should start around 9-9:30 Sat. the 24th! medcop |

I sent this email to everyone who has posted (I hope I did not miss anyone)
Hello All, Well it looks like this Saturday the 24th at around 9:00-9:30 am at the Finger Lakes Conservation Range north of Columbia. The people over on Assault Web have put together this shoot and I was emailed by TargetShooter2 and advised of this..so it would be a combined AssaultWeb / AR15.com shoot! Should be a blast....The post on AssaultWeb has a really good map http://assaultweb.net/ubb/Forum1/HTML/216518.html If anyone needs directions give me a call at: Home: 573-687-2726 Cell: 573-228-1026 You can call anytime if you like..don't worry about bothering me..it won't! I have one extra bed if anyone is coming from a long distance...so first come first serve. OH...almost forgot...There is a Gun Show at Midway on Sat. and Sun. also..Midway is just about 2 miles west of Columbia on 70..so it would be something to do also. If anyone needs ammo or the such I get volume dealer prices at Graf & Sons and can get Federal American Eagle 55 gr. for around $80 a case for .223. This is my cost..not attempting to make a sale or profit....just wanted to let you know if anyone needs some for the shoot. Another thing... I only live about 10 miles north of the range, and could bring my grill if anyone wants to "cook out" while we shoot. Just a thought? Well, let me know if this sounds good to anyone...take care and be safe. Nathan (medcop) |

I'm gonna try to make it. I gotta clear my schedule (which won't be hard) and see if I got enough Jack to afford the trip up there.
|
|
I plan on being there, maybe I can sell some of my babies at the gun show.
Anyone interested in a carpool from STL??? Let me know. Chris |
|
Count me in. Just about 2 hours away here in KC. Does Bucksnort in Marshall ever have open shoots? or just hipower matches? Let me know so I can go.
|
|
I will try to make it after I plant a mailbox late Friday or Saturday morning.
I may need to go to Midway to see a man about a gun, also. |
|
Some guys from over on AssaultWeb are also going.
I still have an extra bed if anyone needs it. medcop |

Wow, I go away for a few days and look what happens on the boards. Sounds like a good time, and just up the road from Jeff City. I'll try and make it if I can. I'm kind of hesitant to show up as a 20yr old college kid with only a bushy and a spanish mauser. I was planning on going to the gun show for sure. The newspaper said it was at the Expo center. Is this a different one than Midway or a misprint?

What firearms are you all bringing? I know my pathetic collection isn't going to impress anyone.
|
|
I am only 27..so don't feel bad about being a college student. That is what makes this board and sport great...all the diff age groups.
I plan on bringing my AR and 1911. (and a bunch of ammo!) medcop |

M4, HK91, Benelli M1S90 and a couple handguns. The HK91 is for sale, so bring your checkbook.[;)] BTW, I'm still looking for anyone who wants to carpool from STL. I can drive, but I could use the company. |

Ok, couple of questions. First, what about the weather. If it's raining tomorrow morning, are we just going to wait untill afternoon and hope it quits? Or move it to Sunday?
Also, does anybody whose planning on showing up have an extra set of FAL synthetic handgaurds laying around that they might want to get rid of? I've got the metal STG handgaurds, and have been meaning to order some synthetic ones. Oh, and MP906, ONLY a Bushie? Shit man, I remember when I wished I had a Bushmaster. And I didn't get my first until I was 23. If ya got a rifle and are probably going to be in town anyway, you don't have an excuse to not show up! Hope to see you there. |
|
Oh man, I just saw this thread!! Not going to happen for me this weekend, but I'm in for next time.

View Quote Good point, any news on the weather. I can come either Sat or Sun, but not both, so I'd hate to show up tomorrow in the rain with noone in attendance... |
|
Weather is calling for early showers, then tapering off. Might be windy though,
15-25 MPH southwest. which way do the lanes face at this range? |
|
I made it to the gunshow tonight. I was kind of rushed but it looked pretty good. All I bought was a couple AK mags for the AK I don't have yet. Plenty of evil weapons including a HK G33! Lots of SAR's-overpriced of coarse. There was an SAR2 for $320. Definetly worth stopping buy.
If it's pouring down rain tomorrow morning, we can just go to the gunshow until it stops. In fact, I may just go straight to the show if it's bad. I could easily spend a couple more hours there. |
|
Quoted: Head count? Who's going? View Quote Count me in, what time are you planning on showing up? I'm sitting here drinking a Bud and loading up stripper clips and mags right now! As far as the rains concerned, it's supposed to clear up in the morning, so I think we'll be good. I don't know about showing up at 9:30 though. Think I'll wait untill ten thirty eleven o'clock or so. And by the way, anybody plan on bringing anything cool to blow up? I've got a couple of beat up work radios that are just begging to be shot! See ya there. |
|
Quoted: Think I'll wait untill ten thirty eleven o'clock or so. View Quote That sounds like a better time. No earlier than 10 for me, maybe around 10:30. |

I plan on showing up around 10...I hate getting up early. I say we just all show up at the range even if it is raining. If the rain does not slow we can then go to the gun show for a bit.
I went to it for about an hour tonight..not bad. I picked up a cheap little .32 FEG...just something to play with. Oh, and got a mag cinch and a couple of LEO mags..sorry, the price was good and I can have them. The gun show is worth checking out. Some empty tables tonight so tomorrow should be better. See ya' all at the range! Oh...about cool things to blow up...hmmmm, I have an old clothes dryer...anyone up for that...hehehehehehe! medcop |
