Maybe the photo forum isn't the place to put this, but I am *blown away* by Paint.NET. I'm intimidated by Photoshop, and don't really like teh Gimp either, but this thing is easy to use. It took me like 30 seconds to be 'chopping stuff back and forth between images, completely intuitive. I just, you know, wanted to share. I'd really like to get more into digital photography, but a lot of the post processing BS really intimidates me. Also, I'm more of a 'funny pictures on the internets' kind of guy, so Pshop seems like overkill...if anyone else is looking for something simple-r to use, I thought this might help. Anyone who is more experienced, is there anything serious that I *can't* do with Paint.net? Because I'm about to load this on every machine I own...

I have Paint.Net installed at work. Good for easy tasks. If I remember correctly (not a safe bet), the big thing missing is layers.
Take a look at Corel's Paint Shop Pro. Similar to Photoshop in capabilities, much cheaper, easier UI, many (all?) of the Photoshop plug-ins work with it. |
