| I need to replace the glass in a vinyl window and it seems that I can replace the sash just as cheap as the glass as it is pressure filled of some sort. Anyone have a source or ever replaced these. My fancy googling is not turning up anything specific. The glass Doctor wants $50 to come out and the price is too high to replace. |

Yeah...we're gonna need a little more info. If it is a double hung, does the sash tilt in for cleaning? If it is a tilt-sash, removing it is easy peasy. If it looks like a double hung, but the top sash is stationary, which glass is broken? If it is a casement window that cranks open, what brand is it? Hmm...that was supposed to be an edit. Pro tip. Get more than three hours of sleep. |

Get more than three hours of sleep. It is single hung and the sash does swing in for cleaning. It seems that it can removed pretty easy. I can't find the brand but found the model and serial number. It is just a regular sliding up and down window, no crank. |

Take out the vinyl sash, and take it to a glass shop. They can order a piece of thermal glass to fit back in your original sash, and it shouldn't be anymore than about $30. If your windows are GBG (grille between glass) the shop should be able to order the glass with the correct grille pattern inside the glass as well.
I had this same problem, I bought a foreclosure and someone had broken out the window, I couldn't find a replacement sash, so I took the old sash to a local glass shop, and in a couple of days it was as good as new. |

Great, thanks! |
